Psaki cornered on Biden’s cratering approval numbers, circles back to blame unvaxxed Americans

Appearing haggard and extremely stressed, White House press secretary Jen Psaki was grilled by a reporter over President Biden’s “really terrible polls” and proceeded to punt by blaming it on the pandemic and unvaccinated Americans.

“The president has very tough approval ratings these days…you might say they don’t mean anything,” the reporter began on Friday, referring to the latest polls.

“But it is also fair to say that the White House, when there are good polls, you publicize them. So, what do you make of these really terrible polls? Are they that he’s doing something wrong? Is it just the communication? Or is it that he’s doing the popular things that have to be done?” he asked.

“Well, look, I would say that this is a really tough time in our country. We’re still battling COVID and a lot of people thought we’d be through it – including us,” Psaki deflected.

“Because of the rise of the Delta variant, because of the fact that even though it was a vaccine that was approved under a Republican administration, even though we now have full FDA approval and even though it’s widely available across the country we still have a quarter of the country – less than that, 20 percent of the country – who’ve decided not to get vaccinated,” she stated, blaming those who have chosen not to get the jab instead of addressing Biden’s catastrophic blunders and mishandling of national interests.

“No question that’s having an impact,” Psaki claimed before she lamely stated, “As the President has said, the buck stops with him. That’s far and away the biggest issue in the minds of the American people, and it’s impacting a lot of issues.”

Biden’s poll numbers have cratered to a dismal 38 percent and they are still nosediving. Fifty-three percent of Americans now say they disapprove of how he is handling the presidency, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released on Friday.

This same poll had Biden at a 42 percent approval rating three weeks ago with 50 percent disapproving his performance as a leader.

“Battered on trust, doubted on leadership, and challenged on overall competency, President Biden is being hammered on all sides as his approval rating continues its downward slide to a number not seen since the tough scrutiny of the Trump administration,” remarked Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy.

As Biden takes a beating in the polls, Americans’ perception of his performance is nothing less than terrible. In this latest poll, 32 percent of Independents approve of the President’s actions while 60 percent disapprove. Only four percent of Republicans approve while 94 percent disapprove. Living in an alternate reality, a stunning 80 percent of Democrats approve of Biden’s performance overall and 10 percent disapprove. The political divide is widening at an alarming pace.

Biden took his biggest hit over immigration where only 25 percent of those polled approve and 67 percent disapprove. He was also slammed for his “first love,” foreign policy, where 34 approved and 58 percent disapproved.

Afghanistan is another sticking point as 28 percent of Americans agreed with his decision to withdraw all troops while 50 percent believe that some should have stayed behind. A notable 15 percent think that we should not have withdrawn troops at all from the country.

Apparently, Americans for the most part view Biden as a failed leader less than a year into his presidency.

Biden is having another tough week.

His “Build Back Better” agenda is stalled in Congress, being held hostage by differing sides of the Democratic Party. And he only has a temporary reprieve on the debt ceiling.

He also had the worst jobs report of his presidency surface on Friday in the midst of urging Americans to “look at the bigger story” as people lose their jobs over choosing not to be vaccinated.

“If you take a look at the trend itself, on average 600,000 new jobs created every month since I took office,” Biden disingenuously proclaimed.

“In total, job creation in the first eight months of my administration is nearly 5 million jobs. Now that’s progress,” he spun for all he’s worth.

Only 194,000 jobs were added to the payroll in September, falling far short of the expected 500,000.

Inflation, debt default, and a failing supply chain added to the bad numbers as well as a severe shortage of willing workers.

Biden painted an alternate reality and claimed that the country is making “consistent steady progress.”

“If you take a step back, look at what’s happening, we’re actually making real progress. Maybe doesn’t seem fast enough – I’d like to see it faster,” he stated.

“Unemployment rate down 4.8 percent, a significant improvement from when I took office and the sign that our recovery is moving forward,” Biden laughingly claimed.

At the end of those comments, instead of taking questions from reporters, Biden once again turned his back and just walked away.

Psaki was pummeled for trying to assign blame to everyone else but Biden:
