President Joe Biden provoked outrage when he tried on Saturday to excuse his lack of involvement in ongoing bill negotiations by sarcastically saying he’s been too busy.
Speaking with the press on the White House South Lawn prior to boarding Marine One, the president specifically addressed the heated negotiations — or fight, rather — over the ostensibly bipartisan infrastructure bill and the definitely partisan “reconciliation” bill that Democrats are desperate to push through Congress.
He first noted that “people” have been asking why he hasn’t been “going around the country selling this?”
Biden then offered an apparent answer to this question.
Listen:
“Well folks, two little things like — we had hurricanes and floods, and we had little things like, we, hahaha — anyway, a lot was going on,” he said.
Translated from the incoherent, poorly articulated sentences seen above, the president basically said that he’s been too busy dealing with other issues.
What prompted outrage were the two words he used to describe these other issues: “little things.”
An army of critics responded by pointing out that there’s nothing “little” about the cataclysmic crises — including the debacle in Afghanistan, where 13 service members were killed — that he claims he’s been busy handling.
Critics also drew attention to the fact that he’s done virtually nothing about these crises. As of Oct. 3rd, Americans were still trapped in Afghanistan, illegals were still streaming across the border, inflation was still through the roof, etc., etc., etc.
‘Little things’ like the debacle of our withdrawal from Afghanistan. Or the crisis that is the border now. No biggies

A few little things, like floods, hurricanes and a total collapse at our southern border. @POTUS @WhiteHouse

I wonder if the families & friends of those killed or left behind consider them little things? I see a Red wave coming in 2022.

These comments are inexcusable. Things like Afghanistan and 13 deaths and people left behind without a rescue plan. All because of the actions of Biden. Smiling and laughter hardly appropriate.

14,000 migrants now. Missing migrant children, unvetted terrorists imported from Afghanistan, 1,000’s Americans/allies in afghanistan, ambassador recalls, drone struck and killed family with 7 children, inflation rising, taxes coming, north korea missles into sea of Japan. 8 mo’s

If anything, critics argued, he created the crises — literally every single one of them.
He bungled the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan by abandoning Bagram Air Base, he allowed the border to be overrun by reversing former President Donald Trump’s policies and he pushed inflation by spending like a drunken sailor.
The man is an idiot. He created the crisises and laughs about it.

Critics also noticed the eerie similarity between his flippant remarks and the infamous “some people did something” remark that Rep. Ilhan Omar made in 2019.
OMG. He is channeling Congresswoman Omar. Afghanistan was some little things? Like when Omar said some people did some bad things, when referring to 911. It must be Omar’s turn to manage him this week.

Some people did something…

And critics pounced slammed the president for his illogical mask-wearing habits.
Take a close look at the video up top and notice how one of the reporters he’s speaking with is also unmasked. Notice also how both unmasked men — the president and the reporter — are standing right next to each other.
The question on critics minds is what exactly is Biden’s purpose for even wearing a mask in the first place if he’s going to pull stunts like this?
President Biden is wearing a mask outside. He walks up to press corps, takes down the mask, and talks to them.
Please explain the purpose of the mask.

If @POTUS doesn’t look and act like a big enough fool he adds to it with his mask hanging off of one ear while near people and puts it on to walk cross an empty lawn.
— Sick and tired (@AgnesSBaker) October 2, 2021
I’m sorry, but this so-called president looks ridiculous with his mask hanging down one ear. One can’t help but laugh at him. No class. No presence. No strength. What a clown! And he’s supposed to be the leader of the Free World.
— Edith Rousseau (@EdithRousseau2) October 3, 2021
So his mask is off when he leans toward reporters to talk louder. I understand it audibly but there is no science behind this mask theater. He speaks from a behind a mask when he leaves the podium a press conferences. It’s just totally irrational.
— BlueridgeWV (@Blueridgewv) October 2, 2021
Why does Joe Biden take his mask off every time he speaks closely to reporters? Isn’t that when you should be wearing a mask according to Dems?
— Dana (@sparkey909w) October 2, 2021
All this speaks to an administration that seems utterly detached from reality.
As far as the Biden administration is concerned, men can get pregnant, the vaccinated must be protected from the unvaccinated, the cost of a $3.5 trillion bill is “zero,” the country falling apart domestically and abroad is a “little thing” and these “little things” are apparently hysterical …
