One leftist Iowa school teacher is under fire after she was caught on video on an online forum bragging about the workaround she has found to teach students woke and divisive critical race theory (CRT) despite its ban in the state of Iowa.
Petra Lange, a high school teacher at West Des Moines’ Valley, participated in an “Online Youth Pushback Forum” to discuss “urban anti-racism education” which she believes must be taught in the classroom despite an Iowa law that prevents educators from teaching material that suggests the U.S. or state of Iowa is fundamentally or systemically racist or sexist.
Lange however, believes she’s found a “clever workaround” and shared it with the group to employ in their own classrooms.
Instead of being outright in teaching controversial, divisive CRT material, Lange goes over the law with her students and explains in great detail what concepts are illegal for her to teach, most certainly inserting her own biases along the way.
Iowa teacher proudly explains how she is circumventing the Critical Race Theory ban.
Instead of teaching CRT, she reviews the CRT concepts that are called out in the law, and encourages her kids to ask questions about the concepts.

“I literally put the law in front of them, gave them access with a link, and I said I need to just let you know there are now concepts that it is illegal for me to teach you about according to the state of Iowa,” Lange continued, “So I went through those ten defined concepts with them, um, so that they could see what the law was – and they immediately, by the time I think we were on the second or third one, they’re like ‘but is it legal for me to ask questions?’”
It is, of course, not illegal for student to ask questions, but the twisted motivation behind the loophole is not to better educate her students, rather it is to indoctrinate them with the kind of woke ideology that the law seeks to combat.
“I was like ‘this is only for me, you can ask as many questions as you like;’ and then I took him to the part of the law that said this law doesn’t prohibit me from answering questions. I said ‘so if there is any question that you have about these defined concepts, you can ask them and then I can answer them,” the educator explained as she burst out in laughter.
This workaround raises further questions about what politically motivated teachers who are firmly ensconced in the school systems across the country are really teaching America’s children as they find devious way to incorporate CRT in their curriculum.
The answers are frightening and one need look no further than Lange as an example. The twisted teacher, who evidently has not prepared a lesson plan for the year for her students, asked them what questions they had that they wanted her to “build this course around”.
“The questions after going through HF-802 were so much more pointed. Like one of them straight up was a sticky note that says ‘is the United States systemically racist?’ – and I was like, ‘well that would be a fascinating conversation that now we can have because you’ve asked.’”
The teacher went on to say that the law could be “an extraordinary silver lining” that “represents systemic oppression”.
“I don’t even necessarily have to say it because they can see it,” Lange said.
HF-802, signed into law by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds in June, bans teaching or mandatory training at governmental agencies, entities, school districts and public postsecondary educational institutions that suggests one race or sex is inherently superior to another race or sex, or that the United States of America and the State of Iowa are fundamentally or systemically racist or sexist.
It also bans teaching that an individual is inherently racist, sexist or oppressive, consciously or unconsciously, and that an individual should be discriminated against solely or partly because of their race or sex.
It remains unclear whether or not Lange will face consequences for her actions.
Many chimed in on Twitter, voicing their concern for her students and her palpable glee for circumventing the rules. A few called for her teaching contract to be terminated, while others believed she was well-intentioned, but misguided.
These weird teachers always have this bizarre sense of pride when talking about how they’re circumventing the wishes of the people that pay their salary. Teaching equality and being against racism is different than teaching that one race is superior to another.

She seems very passionate about teaching but clearly misguided. I don’t think she’s a bad person at all; she’s doing what she thinks is right but doesn’t understand the destructive impact this way of thinking has on people. Attacking her would just martyr her way of thinking.

This approach is interesting but wouldn’t the issue be that unless discussing laws was part of her curriculum on what basis would she even bring this in as a topic and why would she be ok teaching law if that isn’t her subject of expertise? Like gym started talking physics

Using her influential position with kids to further her agenda, her position for CRT is clear to kids by how she addresses it. Teaching a mindset to circumvent laws and dishonestly go against their intent. Her answers will obviously be biased in favor of CRT. A very bad teacher.

And they appear to genuinely think they’re on the right side of history, that it’s just fine and dandy to brainwash our children in schools and that it’s “oppression” if they can’t.

Nope, that’s still teaching CRT. Terminate at the very least.

Her glee at flouting these rules mirrors previous videos of other teachers. It is pathological. pic.twitter.com/1NvxBba47G
