Despite Governor Gavin Newsomvrecovering from the recall effort by using an over $70 million war chest, at least two members of his family will be battling COVID-19 the old-fashioned way by building up their natural immunity.
A spokesperson for the governor, Erin Mellon, confirmed in a statement on Friday that two of Newsom’s children tested positive for COVID-19 even though she indicated that “the family is following all COVID protocols.”
The California governor, his wife Jennifer Newsom, and their two other children tested negative.
The couple’s four kids range in age from 5-years-old to 12-years-old including Montana (12), Hunter (10), Brooklyn (8), and Dutch (5).
Although the Pfizer vaccine is approved for use in people 12 years and older, it’s not clear if their eldest child has rolled up her sleeve for the vaccine. The younger children are not currently eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine.
“The Newsoms continue to support masking for unvaccinated individuals indoors to stop the spread and advocate for vaccinations as the most effective way to end this pandemic,” the spokesperson said according to KTVU.
Reactions to the announcement were mixed, with some wishing them a speedy recovery, and others taking a more cynical approach, after living through the last year and a half of the governor’s hypocritical policies such as when his children were sent to in-person private school while the vast majority of schools across the state were shuttered and only offering virtual instruction.
Oh no California bout to have martial law.

Great agenda for pushing the VAX for young kids… Like clockwork

The infections in the Newsom household come on the heels of the recall election where, although the candidates vying for his seat as governor were limited by campaign finance laws to raise no more than $32,400 per donor, Newsom’s committee to oppose the recall had no such limit which opened the door to donations by mega-donors such as George Soros who threw a half a million dollars at stopping the recall.
Newsom seems to view his election victory as a mandate to continue his draconian leftist policies.
“We need to stiffen our spines and lean in, to keeping people safe and healthy,” he said in an interview with CBS just after the election when asked to speak to national democrats about his recall victory.
“Be affirmative,” the Democratic governor urged. “Don’t be timid. Lean in. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the formal authority of setting the tone and tenor on masks — on vaccines and masks. But it’s the moral authority that we have: that we’re on the right side of history and we’re doing the right thing to save people’s lives.”

Since his victory, he has used his so-called mandate to affect more than just pandemic policies, too. The day after the recall election he signed into law a bill that virtually ends single-family zoning in the former Golden State.
“The housing affordability crisis is undermining the California Dream for families across the state, and threatens our long-term growth and prosperity,” Newsom said. “Making a meaningful impact on this crisis will take bold investments, strong collaboration across sectors and political courage from our leaders and communities to do the right thing and build housing for all.”
