One of just 11 surviving original copies of the United States Constitution is set to go up for auction later this year and is expected to get bids for up to $20 million.
Sotheby’s announced they are putting a rare, original copy of the historic document, with an estimated value of between $15 million and $20 million, under the hammer at their Manhattan auction house in November.
Signed in 1787 in Philadelphia, It is one of only 11 known surviving copies from the official first printing produced for the delegates to the Constitutional Convention and for the Continental Congress, USA Today reported.
It’s the only copy that remains in private hands and will be sold at the New York auction house in November.
