Teacher compares Flight 93 to Jan 6, declares Osama bin Laden ‘won’ after being instructed to address 9/11

In a video making the rounds online, a purported teacher explained that she was instructed to talk to her class about the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and, in doing so, she exploited the plight of Flight 93 to compare the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol to the terrorist attacks that fateful day.

A common comparison the left makes, which serves as an insult to the nearly 3,000 innocent victims who lost their lives to an Islamic extremist terror attack.

But the bemused teacher didn’t stop there, as she used a protest by Americans who had serious concerns about the integrity of our elections — a protest that clearly got out of hand — to declare that Osama bin Laden had “won.”

“Now, I did, because, you know, whatever…,” she said of the instruction she was given. “But I was 19 years old when that happened, a freshman in college, and it was a really hard day… and they’ve heard about a lot of it. They’ve heard about the World Trade Center attack, they’ve heard about the Pentagon attack, but only some of them have heard about Flight 93.”

“So I tried to explain to them why that was so important, right?” the teacher continued. “Like, the World Trade Center was attacking America’s economic power, and the attack on the Pentagon was an attack on America’s military power. And that last plane was heading to the U.S. Capitol, right? To attack the seat of our democracy.”

It’s not entirely certain that the Capitol was the intended target. The 9/11 Commission Report concluded the plane’s target was Washington, that the hijacker pilot’s “objective was to crash his airliner into symbols of the American Republic, the Capitol or the White House.”

“So all of the things that America is and represented, in their own eyes in the world, were being attacked that day,” the teacher continued, not letting facts distort from a convenient political narrative. “Flight 93, I explained to the kids, they took the plane, they fought the hijackers and they crashed the plane into the field and they protected the U.S. Capitol. The last act of Americans on this earth was to protect the seat of our democracy. To protect the U.S. Capitol.”

Finding humor in her thoughts, she said with a chuckle, “And I said those words and it was like, in real-time in my brain. I realized that 20 years after they gave their lives to protect the U.S. Capitol from a terrorist attack, 20 years later it was our own citizens who smashed windows, threw the flag on the ground, and literally rubbed shit on the walls — and if that doesn’t tell you that Osama won…”

The irony here being that because of President Joe Biden’s humiliating surrender to the Taliban in Afghanistan, some are suggesting that bin Laden did indeed win.

While there were five deaths associated with the Jan. 6 protest, only one person was killed that day. Ashli Babbitt, a 36-year-old unarmed Trump supporter and 14-year Air Force veteran was shot dead inside the Capitol by a police officer. Three other deaths were medical incidents involving Trump supporters, and the fifth death was Officer Brian Sicknick, who died the next day of “natural causes,” after suffering two strokes.

All of which pales in comparison to the horror that took place on Sept. 11, 2001.

As might be expected, social media wasn’t impressed. Here’s a quick sampling of the responses from Twitter:
