President Joe Biden was asked by a reporter Friday about the likelihood that some Republican governors will challenge his executive overreach with a vaccine mandate for companies with 100 or more employees.
“Have at it,” the feeble, 78-year-old president said.
Biden followed that up by directing his self-righteous ire toward the opposition party, saying: “I am so disappointed that particularly some Republican governors have been so cavalier with the health of these kids. So cavalier with the health of their communities. ”
“This is — we’re playing for real here. This isn’t a game,” he continued. “And I don’t know of any scientist out there in this field that doesn’t think it makes considerable sense to do the six things I’ve suggested.”
Biden, who continues to be highly divisive from a political standpoint, then engaged in a remarkable exercise of projecting.
“Let me conclude with this. One of the lessons I hope our students can unlearn is that politics doesn’t have to be this way. Politics doesn’t have to be this way,” Biden sleepily added. “They’re growing up in an environment where they see it’s like a war, like a bitter feud. If a Democrat says right, everybody says left. If a Democrat says left, they say right. It’s not who we are as a nation. And it’s not how we beat every other crisis in our history. We’ve got to come together.”
He also claimed that polling data says “the vast majority of the American people know we have to do these things. They’re hard, but necessary.”
The great irony here is that immediately after denouncing others for being “cavalier with the health of these kids,” an unmasked Biden wobbled over to a group of people who were wearing masks and shook hands with a young student.

At one point in Thursday’s speech, which was characterized as a “grumpy grandpa” speech, Biden threatened governors who stand in the way of his forced mandates — a move that surely had our Founding Fathers rolling over in their graves.
Without naming Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has vowed to stand up for parents’ rights, he spoke about local school officials “trying to keep children safe in a pandemic while their governor picks a fight with them, and even threatens their salaries or their jobs.”
“Talk about bullying in schools,” the president said. “If they’ll not help, if these governors won’t help us beat the pandemic, I’ll use my power as president to get them out of the way.”
DeSantis press secretary Christina Pushaw responded with a little reminder for the president.

A number of Republican governors responded online to Biden’s edict, vowing to not relent in challenging what many see as unconstitutional action.
“South Dakota will stand up to defend freedom. @JoeBiden see you in court,” Gov. Kristie Noem tweeted.
I will pursue every legal option available to the state of Georgia to stop this blatantly unlawful overreach by the Biden administration,” Gov. Brian Kemp tweeted.
