Biden set to visit three 9/11 memorial sites on 20th anniversary, orders review of doc declassification

President Joe Biden intends to visit all three Sept. 11 memorial sites to mark the 20th anniversary of the horrific terror attacks, but critics believe he won’t be able to get through the day without doing something dumb.

“Biden will visit three memorial sites next Saturday to ‘honor and memorialize’ the lives of nearly 3,000 people who were killed that day two decades ago, according to the White House,” NBC News reported Sunday.

The good news is that he’ll reportedly have his caretaker with him.

“He will be accompanied by First Lady Jill Biden as he travels to memorial sites in Shanksville, Pennsylvania; the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia; and New York City,” according to NBC News.

But knowing Biden, he could still wind up being caught falling asleep, staring repeatedly at his watch or doing something else foul.

Questions also remain over whether he’s even welcome at the memorials.

Last month roughly 1,800 survivors, first responders and family members of the deceased wrote a letter to him basically saying they don’t want him in attendance unless he first declassifies all government documents concerning the terror attacks.

“Since the conclusion of the 9/11 Commission in 2004 much investigative evidence has been uncovered implicating Saudi government officials in supporting the attacks. Through multiple administrations, the Department of Justice and the FBI have actively sought to keep this information secret and prevent the American people from learning the full truth about the 9/11 attacks,” they wrote.

“Twenty years later, there is simply no reason — unmerited claims of ‘national security’ or otherwise — to keep this information secret. But if President Biden reneges on his commitment and sides with the Saudi government, we would be compelled to publicly stand in objection to any participation by his administration in any memorial ceremony of 9/11.”

As of Sunday, Sept. 5th, the documents still remained classified, though the president had reportedly signed an order for Attorney General Merrick Garland to first review and then declassify “some” of the documents sometime within the next six months, as reported by The New York Times.

“It is not clear what documents the Justice Department will release when its review is complete. But the announcement was immediately hailed by some family members who have escalated pressure on Mr. Biden to act,” the Times reported Friday.

It’s not clear how other family members feel about the last-minute move.

Meanwhile, some Americans believe he has no right to attend the memorials given the self-inflicted catastrophe in Afghanistan and — worse — his decision to strand tens of thousands of Afghan refugees and hundreds of U.S. citizens.

To make matters worse, he acted rude and uncouth during the dignified transfer ceremonies for the 13 U.S. service members who were killed during the completely avoidable bombing at the airport in Kabul.

And then when speaking with the Gold Star families of these 13 service members, he kept bringing up his own son Beau who died in 2015 … from  cancer, not from being blown to smithereens by terrorists.

His continual gaffes, rude behavior, lack of empathy and utter disrespect suggest that, at minimum, his visits next Saturday to the Sept. 11 memorial sites won’t be without controversy.
