On Friday, a fed-up New Jersey school district superintendent violently knocked over a morbid display that’d been erected outside an Edison elementary school by an angry local labor union, and now parents are praising him for his heroic deed.

The altercation began early that morning when students and staff members arrived at Lincoln Elementary School only to find a funeral casket placed in front of the building.

Attached to the side of the casket was a poster with an image of a toe-tagged dead body and the words “Irresponsible Contractors are Killing Middle Class Wages.”

And featured in the upper-left corner of the poster was the logo for Liuna Local 77, the disgruntled labor union responsible for erecting the morbid display.

When Public Schools of Edison Township superintendent Bernard Bragen learned of the display, he tried contacting the union but was met with cold indifference.

“They said ‘tough s–t,'” he later recalled to NJ.com.

And so without any other options available, he pulled up to the school, marched up to the display, and toppled it over like a WWE wrestler.

Watch:

Nicely done.

According to Bragen, the dispute concerns a $9 million expansion project at the school.

“By state law, the district was required to take the lowest bidder – Pal-Pro Builders of Bergen County, which the union says doesn’t hire laborers from the area,” according to NJ.com

And so because the labor union didn’t get its way, it chose to lash out much like left-wing organizations invariably do.

In a statement to NJ.com, the union claimed no children actually saw the display.

“How do we know this? Because at 8:21 a.m. a school official (Bragen) actually knocked down the display which was never put back up before its removal,” a union spokesperson claimed.

But witness testimony doesn’t match this claim.

“Keith Hahn, an Edison mayoral candidate who was at the scene, said the display and a large inflatable rat the union setup nearby, outraged parents who were bringing their kids to school for the second day of classes,” according to NJ.com.

Making matters worse, the kids were returning to school after an 18-month hiatus.

“It’s inappropriate for children to have a casket, especially 5- and 6-year-olds who are returning to school after probably some of the most traumatic times we’ve had in the last 18 months,” Bragen told NJ.com.

Hahn, for his part, says he tried talking union members out of setting up the display, but they didn’t seem to care.

“They didn’t want to hear it. They insisted on leaving it there. Parents were very angry,” he said.

And now that the story has gone viral, so are members of the public who’ve taken to slamming the local union’s parent organization, the Laborers’ International Union of North America, for the sick display:

LIUNA is among the labor unions that endorsed President Joe Biden last year but are now paying the consequences for that decision.

“The Biden Administration’s decision to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline permit on day one of his presidency is both insulting and disappointing to the thousands of hard-working LIUNA members who will lose good-paying, middle-class family-supporting jobs,” union president Terry O’Sullivan said in January.

“By blocking this 100-percent union project, and pandering to environmental extremists, a thousand union jobs will immediately vanish and 10,000 additional jobs will be foregone,” he added.

These days the union can be found on Twitter vociferously promoting Congress’s bipartisan infrastructure package.

Look:

The package is currently being held up because of Democrats, including Biden. The president has vowed to only sign the bipartisan bill if a separate $3.5 trillion spending package is also passed by Congress.

According to reports, the $3.5 trillion plan would spike inflation and thus hurt the economy.
