It’s fair to suggest, at the risk of drawing the ire of Big Tech fact-checkers, that there is an information war going on in America on many fronts, including the pandemic.
It is here that conservative pundit Candace Owens dared to take on what has become a revolutionary position in 2021 by asking a few questions.
The remarkable thing about the tweet Owens shared is that it has been up for an hour as of this writing and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey’s Orwellian censors have yet to spring into action, despite nearly 10,000 “Likes.”
“How many ‘rare, breakthrough’ cases will it take before people realize that they are neither rare, or breakthrough?” she asked. *More on that in a bit.
“How many booster shots will you let them mandate into your arm before you begin to question whether or not you are fighting new variants, or failed vaccines?” Owens followed up.

There’s no shortage of information from the so-called “experts” that we’re told to take at face value, only to later see a reversal, which has resulted in high levels of distrust. The only thing we seem to agree on is that COVID-19 has been thoroughly politicized and that the numbers being tossed around always seem to change over time.
Nowhere is this more apparent than with the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines. The idea, in the beginning, was that those who got the vaccination would be immune to the virus. However, as the number of “breakthrough” cases grows, we’ve learned that this is not the case. Not only can the vaccinated still get COVID-19 and pass it along, but they carry a similar level of the virus as the unvaccinated. So, we are now assured that those who get the vaccine weather the storm far better, experiencing less severe symptoms and fewer deaths.
In Massachusetts alone, there have been over 15,000 fully vaccinated residents test positive for COVID-19 and more than 130 of them have died, NBC Boston reported, citing the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
There have been 3,098 breakthrough cases in the last week alone.
The affiliate noted that experts say the increase in breakthrough cases is attributable to diminishing immunity from the vaccines, emphasizing the need for booster shots in the coming months.
All of which comes full circle to the “interesting questions” Owens posed — at a time when it’s all but verboten to debate the issue of vaccines and immunity:

Politico reported Wednesday that there are “holes” in the reporting of breakthrough cases, meaning the numbers could be higher.
Citing three officials with direct knowledge, the political news site said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which opted in May to focus on the most severe cases, “is using outdated and unreliable data on coronavirus breakthrough infections to help make major decisions, such as who gets booster shots.”
More from Politico:
Forty-nine states are now regularly sending CDC information on hospitalized breakthrough patients. But more than a dozen told POLITICO that they do not have the capacity to match patients’ hospital admission data with their immunization records.Instead, those states rely on hospital administrators to report breakthrough infections. The resulting data is often aggregated, inaccurate and omits critical details for teasing out trends, such as which vaccine a person received and whether they have been fully vaccinated, a dozen state officials said.
State health officials from a subset of states that included mild cases that don’t send people to the hospital said their “data on breakthrough infections suggests the rate of these cases in their jurisdictions is greater than the hospitalization counts show. And the number of new infections continue to rise,” the website reported.
