Biden deputy press secretary shares ‘deceptively edited’ FOX clip and all hell breaks loose

White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates shared online Monday what was reportedly a “deceptively edited video” of Fox News’ reaction to the FDA’s approval of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine.”

And while Bates would eventually scramble to undo the dirty deed, a more troubling aspect of the story may be that the Biden White House is influenced by the likes of an unhinged liberal zealot like Molly Jong-Fast.

The segment in question was from Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” with host Dana Perino asking if the approval process was rushed, before allowing guest Brett Giroir to answer that question.

The former assistant secretary for health in the Trump administration didn’t feel that the process was rushed and gave the COVID-19 vaccine a hearty endorsement.

“What this says today is we know the benefits, we know the harms, and this vaccine is safe and effective and every confidence can be given to that and Americans should feel very good, better than they did yesterday about getting the vaccine,” Giroir said.

“The vaccine is fully approved,” he added, “and I’m very hopeful this will push people over the edge to go get the vaccine because it is our best protection aside from natural immunity against all the hospitalizations and deaths particularly that delta is causing across the country.”

Lis Power, the director of media intelligence at far-left Media Matters, initially shared the opening 12 second clip of Perino asking if the approval process was rushed, which would be characterized as “deceptively edited.”

While she did share a longer clip of the segment, to include Giroir’s response, along with the caveat, “That doesn’t negate that the immediate framing was ‘critics asking if the process was rushed,'” it was the original tweet that drew the most attention, to include Biden water carrier Jong-Fast chiming in to say: “Rupert Murdoch didn’t think it was too rushed. He got it in December.”

This being the tweet that Bates retweeted.

To his credit, the Biden official responded to a Mediaite story noting that the video was “deceptively edited,” to say he “undid the retweet.”

So all is well? Not so fast.

Washington Post media reporter Jeremy Barr entered the fray, and while one might expect that he was running interference for Media Matters — a George Soros backed entity — he was actually covering his own backside, because he shared the same 12-second clip earlier.

“The phrase ‘deceptively edited’ is doing A LOT of work here,” Barr brilliantly replied in a tweet that included a screenshot of the Mediaite report.

He would add in a follow up tweet: “The concern at hand is what Dana Perino said, not what her guest said…”

Of course, Perino asked a question and brought on a guest to answer that question.

Even though he owned up to his error, Bates was still taken to task by social media users for relying on Media Matters for information:

As for Barr, suffice it to say that he got his share and then some… here’s a small sampling of some of the responses from Twitter:
