While some have spent the year calling out so-called cov-idiots, others are finally fighting back by calling out cov-lunatics.

It all started with New York Post columnist Karol Markowicz. On Thursday, she dropped a column warning lawmakers, public health officials and “experts” (think Fauci) that Americans are “not going back to masks and lockdowns again.”

She basically warned that Americans are done with the cov-insanity. And to prove her point, she posted a tweet Friday asking the public if they’d like to share with her their “favorite COVID insanity moment.”

In response, the public flooded her with examples.

Look:

The tweets go on for days, but they all speak to the same theme — an insanity so commonly seen this past year among the world’s “experts,” “officials” and “elites” that the public’s trust in them collapsed to a record low.

And this collapse only continues to this day as these “experts” and “elites” double, triple and quadruple down on the insanity, all while demeaning their critics and dissenters as uneducated “cov-idiots.”

But according to historian Thomas Frank, the problem has never been a lack of education or respect from dissenters — it’s been a complete lack of critical thinking from the experts themselves.

“[I]t will soon start to dawn on people that our mistake was not insufficient reverence for scientists, or inadequate respect for expertise, or not enough censorship on Facebook. It was a failure to think critically about all of the above, to understand that there is no such thing as absolute expertise,” he wrote last month in The Guardian.

“Think of all the disasters of recent years: economic neoliberalism, destructive trade policies, the Iraq War, the housing bubble, banks that are “too big to fail,” mortgage-backed securities, the Hillary Clinton campaign of 2016 — all of these disasters brought to you by the total, self-assured unanimity of the highly educated people who are supposed to know what they’re doing, plus the total complacency of the highly educated people who are supposed to be supervising them.”

The column was written in response to then-emerging reports that the lab leak theory that the “experts” had dismissed does hold merit.

As noted earlier, the insanity continues to this day.

A CNN medical “expert” recently said that mask mandates should be reinstituted, even for those who’ve been fully vaccinated from the coronavirus.

Dr. Anthony Fauci recently said that all children over the age of two should be forced to continue masking up while at school.

Last week Los Angeles County restored its indoor mask mandate.

And meanwhile in Australia, millions have been locked down again thanks to one reported coronavirus death.

“Anger is growing in Australia as 13 million people – about half the population – endure fresh lockdowns to quash Covid outbreaks. A third state went into lockdown on Tuesday. Stay-at-home orders are now in place in South Australia, Victoria and parts of New South Wales,” according to the BBC.

“Many people have expressed frustration at being back in highly policed lockdowns 18 months into the pandemic. And re-openings in the UK and the US have put pressure on the government.”

To America’s credit, officials and “experts” here don’t seem intent on ever locking down again. But even if they did, the American people have already made it clear that they won’t tolerate anymore covid-insanity.
