Crowd erupts when Trump rips RINO and ‘weak’ Republicans, says McConnell ‘can no longer do the job’

Donald Trump has been relatively quiet since he left office earlier this year, but after what he’s seen thus far from fellow Republicans he says he can no longer sit by idly. On Wednesday the former president, along with Texas Governor Greg Abbott, joined Fox News’ Sean Hannity in a town hall near the U.S.-Mexico border to put “weak Republicans” on blast, and even suggested that it’s time for the party to move on from Senator Mitch McConnell.

“Mitch McConnell can no longer do the job,” said Trump of the former majority leader. “We need better leadership at the Senate level. You need better leadership. You need somebody better than Mitch McConnell.”

Trump didn’t mince words when criticizing members of his own party on infrastructure, calling those willing to work with the Biden administration “weak Republicans” and “RINOs” as the audience cheered.

“They walk into the White House — I’ve been watching for four weeks now — they walk in, they meet Biden, he doesn’t know what the hell’s happening. He’s sitting, and they’re talking about infrastructure. And finally, they walk out, they have a deal, and the deal is a terrible deal.”

The former president likened the infrastructure deal to one that England made with Nazi Germany prior to World War II that the Nazis famously reneged on. “So they have a deal,” Trump went on to say. “And then Biden cancels the deal because the radical left says you can’t make that deal. That deal is no good.”

Trump was also asked about the current crisis at the border, at which point the former president said that Americans “can’t wait until 2022” to fix the problem. “They all say ‘oh, we’re going to win Congress.’ This can’t go on, they have to do something immediately,” He said. “People are storming up, you look at some of these caravans where they have fifteen, twenty, twenty-five thousand people, and you don’t know who is in those caravans.”

“Dotted in those caravans are some of the worst people on earth,” Trump would say about the large groups of migrants attempting to illegally enter the country. “So it’s a tremendous cost, and monetarily it’s a tremendous cost. You’re talking about trillions and trillions of dollars.”

“What’s happening here is the erosion of the social fabric of the United States of America,” Governor Abbott would add. “The United States of America was built upon the rule of law, and what the Biden administration is doing is not enforcing the rule of law.”

“The first thing that happens for all the people they are letting in, they know they are getting away with violating the rule of law,” Abbot continued. “That has to be stopped.”
