Black Lives Matter has issued a new set of demands calling for former President Trump to be permanently banned from all social media platforms and from ever holding political office again.
The set of seven demands by the activists was published on the Black Lives Matter website via an article that urged supporters to sign a statement supporting the move.
Topping the list were demands that called for the former president to be “immediately convicted in the United States Senate.” That was followed by the demand that he be banned from ever holding elected office again.
The site states: “We are joining Rep. Ilhan Omar, Rep. Ayanna Pressley, Rep. Cori Bush, Rep. Jamaal Bowman, and others who are demanding Trump be immediately convicted in the United States Senate. Trump must also be banned from holding elected office in the future.”

The next demand brazenly called for the expelling of over half of the Republicans currently sitting in Congress: “More than half the Republican representatives and multiple senators stoked Trump’s conspiracy theories and encouraged the white supremacists to take action to overturn the election. We are supporting Rep. Cori Bush’s resolution to expel them from Congress for their dangerous and traitorous actions. We also support steps to bar them from seeking another office.”
Going down the list, the third demand urges an investigation into law enforcement, the Capitol Police, and the military for alleged ties to white supremacist organizations: “The Capitol was able to be breached and overrun by white supremacists attempting to disrupt a political process that is fundamental to our democracy. We know that police departments have been a safe haven for white supremacists to hide malintent behind a badge, because the badge was created for that purpose. We also know off-duty cops and military were among the mob at the Capitol on January 6th. Guilty parties need to be held accountable and fired. We are supporting Rep. Jamaal Bowman’s COUP Act to investigate these connections.”
The next demand calls for Trump to be “permanently banned from all digital media platforms” because they accuse him of spreading lies and disinformation. Black Lives Matter also contends that the former president incited violence on Jan. 6.
That was followed by another demand that calls for the defunding of the police as they have repeatedly done in the past.
The sixth demand instructs lawmakers to not suppress protests due to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot: “In response to the coup, Politicians have already introduced the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act of 2021. We’ve seen this playbook before. These laws are used to target Black and brown communities for heightened surveillance. Republicans are already busy trying to create an equivalence between the mob on January 6th and our Freedom Summer. We don’t need new domestic terror laws, facial recognition, or any other new police power for the state. Our government should protect righteous protest and stay focused on the real issue: rooting out white supremacy. There are enough laws, resources, and intelligence, but they were not used to stop the coup. Our elected officials must uncover why.”
And the final ultimatum calls for additional oversight for local law enforcement by passing the BREATHE Act that came into being after the death of George Floyd. It is another call to defund the police. The website dedicated to the act states: “This visionary bill divests our taxpayer dollars from brutal and discriminatory policing and invests in a new vision of public safety—a vision that answers the call to defund the police and allows all communities to finally BREATHE free.”
Black Lives Matter’s demands surfaced as the Facebook oversight board upheld the ban on Trump on the platform and on Instagram Wednesday. The board confusingly gave Facebook six months to review the “arbitrary” indefinite ban as well. Their statement noted that Facebook “violated its own rules.”
Twitter slammed Black Lives Matter for their calls to silence Trump:
BLM shooting itself in the foot. Advocating for social media bans. There will be a point in time in which everyone that even tweets or posts anything about blm, will be hit with a shadow ban or actual ban. That’s what you get for advocating for banning of opposing views.

Why???! He has freedom of speech just like everyone else. This is bullshit and a very slippery slope banning him and people that follow him for life. This is wrong on so many levels. I don’t believe everything he said but shot he has a right to say it

When you start to censor the opinions of others, thinking that your point of view is the only valid one, do not complain when the boomerang returns. Freedom of expression is what it is, a fundamental human right. You cannot be judge and jury.
