It’s not much of a stretch to suggest the nation is tight as a spring as it awaits the expected verdict this week in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin over the death of George Floyd.
Adding to the anxiety are the continued protests in nearby Brooklyn Park over last week’s accidental shooting of criminal suspect Daunte Wright, who tried to flee while being arrested for an open warrant. There’s also the death of an armed 13-year-old shooting suspect in Chicago at the hands of a police officer that is driving emotions.
With Democratic officials and much of the media fomenting civil unrest, it’s safe to say the nation is a tinder box ready to explode, as seen in a dramatic video capturing a black man harassing several members of the Minnesota National Guard by getting in their faces, spewing expletives.
The troops are in town to help provide security in the anticipated aftermath of the Chauvin trial, as Minneapolis braces for unrest — seemingly regardless of the final verdict.
“Creepy motherf**ker, you know who I am?” the black man asked one of the soldiers, before going to each one to say, “F**k you! F**k you! F**k you! F**k you!”
Meanwhile, a bystander intervened to say to the raging man, “Why don’t you do yourself a favor and —“
“Shut the f**k up and let me — shut up!” the man interrupted.
“You wanna try it? They can’t do nothing to you, but I can. I can do something. So trip,” the bystander told him. “Yeah, you. Who the f**k you think I’m talking to?”
While the harasser threatened to “beat your ass,” he didn’t seem to be in much of a hurry to engage as the bystander begged, “Come try me. Come try me, b*tch!”
After physically pushing past two soldiers, the black man got nose to nose with his antagonizer, suggesting he was a police officer. And while he nudged the bystander a bit, he could not muster a swing.
Eventually, one of the troopers and another man stepped in and separated the men.
With closing arguments in the trial set to begin Monday, you can be assured there’s a small army of professional agitators in the area waiting to spring into action. This may explain the continued protests over Wright’s death.
On Sunday, two National Guard troops were injured during a drive-by shooting — the incident coming less that 24 hours after U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., show up to not only denounce an established curfew in place, but to tell the mob they must stay in the street and “get more confrontational.”
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the video that appeared to be first shared by Alpha News:
They should have defended themselves.

It amazes me what people will act like when they know no one will react back. I imagine this guy isn’t that tough if the guard didn’t just stand there. 🤷♂️

This is wrong!
We are taught discipline. I am proud of my young brother in arms. He has it in spades.

These soldiers were highly professional and God bless them. The man in the white hoodie is a good man for standing up to a coward. pic.twitter.com/4pqUPFyGoL

Why are Biden voters always wasted and poorly dressed?

At first I thought that was Lori Lightfoot.
