Marjorie Taylor Greene says she was suspended for ‘He is Risen’ Easter tweet; Twitter calls it an ‘error’

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted a tweet on Sunday to celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ and she was subsequently suspended by Twitter “in error” for the second time in a month.

Twitter claims it was an error as a result of the platform’s algorithm. “We use a combination of technology and human review to enforce the Twitter Rules across the service. In this case, our automated systems took enforcement action on the account referenced in error. This action has been reversed, and access to the account has been reinstated,” Twitter noted in a statement.

Her account was unavailable for approximately twelve hours before Twitter reinstated Greene. This is not the first time that Twitter has erroneously suspended Greene’s account. No specific reason was given by Twitter for the suspension.

She alleged that she was suspended due to her Christian views and for her political stances. Greene posted her allegations on a number of social media platforms including Gab and Parler as well as Twitter.

The Georgia conservative’s message on Gab stated the following:

After tweeting, “He is risen! Happy Easter!” I was suspended this morning for 12 hours!

Was it my Christian faith?

My never ending demand to an end to murdering God’s creation in the womb?

Is it my fight to protect our greatest right to defend ourselves, come and take them?

My willingness to Fire Fauci?

Maybe my fight to stop mandated vaccine passports?

Or how about calling out Ilhan Omar?

Or really…

Fighting with every ounce of my body to Save America and Stop Socialism!!!

Message to Big Tech:

I’LL NEVER STOP!!!

You can’t silence me. You can’t stop me. The People are with me.

And so are the greatest conservatives especially President Trump!!!

Greene received the same message from Twitter as the one she was given on March 19th when Twitter had reversed a suspension of her account. Her campaign called the first suspension “another attempt by the Silicon Valley Cartel to silence voices that speak out against their far-left woke orthodoxy.”

No one believes you, Twitter!

This follows after Greene was stripped of her committee positions for espousing purported conspiracy theories. Democrats have attempted to have her expelled from Congress, but to no avail. She has also been accused by leftists of harassing gun-control advocate David Hogg and allegedly threatening Democrats in the House of Representatives.

Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) introduced a resolution last month that sought to expel Greene from Congress over previous controversial social media postings.

Some on Twitter linked the suspension to an attack on Greene’s Christian faith. They viewed the ban as too coincidental in its timing.

One commenter reportedly tweeted out: “Jesus has Risen!! Wan to suspend me too? I don’t always agree with Marjorie Green but come on now. I’m pretty sure that doesn’t violate anything but keep on silencing anyone you disagree with. PS. That is what Hitler and other dictators did too.”

Another chimed in on the issue as well: “Let me guess…Twitter suspended Marjorie Taylor Green suspended for posting ‘He has Risen!’ because their fact checkers couldn’t find any eye witnesses.”
