Thanks to the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s infamous and potentially seditious attempt in January to block then-President Donald Trump’s access to America’s nuclear code will finally face scrutiny.
On Monday, the watchdog group filed a Freedom of Information Act request against the Biden Department of Defense demanding records from a Jan. 8th phone call between Pelosi and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley.
The FOIA request specifically asks for “any and all transcripts, recordings, and/or summaries of the call, as well as any other records produced in preparation for, during, and/or pursuant to the call.” It also requests “all additional records of communications between” Milley and Pelosi “between November 1, 2020 and the present.”

Judicial Watch is aware of the call because Pelosi herself described it in a memo she’d sent to her colleagues during the afternoon of Jan. 8th.
“This morning, I spoke to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley to discuss available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike,” the memo, which can still be seen here, reads.
“The situation of this unhinged President could not be more dangerous, and we must do everything that we can to protect the American people from his unbalanced assault on our country and our democracy,” it continued.
The implication of her words is clear: She’d sought to intervene in the military chain of command by asking Milley to consider superseding the president’s authority and blocking from being able to carry out the duties of a commander in chief.
In other words, she’d potentially committed sedition.

“If Speaker Pelosi’s description of her conversation with General Milley is true, it sets a dangerous precedent that could undermine the president’s role as commander in chief and the separation of powers. Our new lawsuit aims to uncover truth about the call,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said in a press release.
The FOIA request also cites another passage from the memo pertaining to a different phone call made to then-Vice President Mike Pence.
“As you know, there is growing momentum around the invocation of the 25th Amendment, which would allow the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet to remove the President for his incitement of insurrection and the danger he still poses,” this passage reads.
“Yesterday, Leader Schumer and I placed a call with Vice President Pence, and we still hope to hear from him as soon as possible with a positive answer as to whether he and the Cabinet will honor their oath to the Constitution and the American people.”
Both passages show Pelosi plotting against the president on the false pretense that he’d incited the Jan. 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol.
While it’s true the Democrat-led House impeached the then-president for incitement only a few short days later on Jan. 13th, he was ultimately acquitted, meaning there was no legitimate justification for the speaker’s machinations.

After word of Pelosi’s actions went viral in early January, some began calling for her own impeachment and perhaps even more.
Case in point: Philip Labonte, the lead singer of the band All That Remains, straight-up called for Pelosi’s arrest on the grounds that she’d attempted to stage a “military coup.”
Look:
Hey so Nancy Pelosi asked the military if they would stage a coup. They said “no, we won’t stage a military coup.” Reported by the NYT. But everyone is going to ignore it.

The Speaker Of The House asked the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to use military power to remove the Commander In Chief.
This is sedition. @SpeakerPelosi must be arrested.

He wasn’t alone in describing her actions as a “military coup.”
Look:
Pelosi is suggesting a military coup, the very definition of sedition.
This is deadly serious.
She should be removed from the House, and every conservative should be screaming for it. pic.twitter.com/1iZtI1Sjlr

Did Pelosi attempt a literal military coup against a sitting president? https://t.co/uDVT8OOGTX

Keep in mind @SpeakerPelosi attempted to recruit the military to commit treason and engage in a military coup against a sitting President – so @JoeBiden – are you going to arrest Nancy Pelosi and serve the people and justice? https://t.co/D9ufFts2Ro

The problem is that nobody but Pelosi and Milley know what exactly she’d said during the call, i.e., her exact words. But with Judicial Watch’s help, the words she’d uttered may soon be known by all.
