The Biden administration is purposely hiding the massive influx of illegal aliens pouring across the southwest border as well as the negative economic effects they will inflict on working-class Americans, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson said Monday.
In his opening monologue, Carlson reported that two border counties in Texas — Starr, and Zapata — swung heavily for former President Donald Trump in 2020 after going solidly for his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, in 2016.
Among the poorest regions in the country, Carlson went on to suggest that the previous president’s tough immigration enforcement policies likely had everything to do with the dramatic shift towards him in November.
“These are big changes, and you’re seeing them all along the Rio Grande Valley,” Carlson said, noting that both counties are overwhelmingly majority Hispanic.
“So how could Hispanics support Donald Trump in numbers like that? They must be Qanon people,” said the host.
After noting again that large pluralities of people living in both counties are poor and earn less than $35,000 a year, great numbers of residents nevertheless voted for Trump in the last election.
“What the hell is going on? Well, a lot of things are going on, probably,” Carlson continued, “but uncontrolled illegal immigration is definitely one of them, probably the main one. That’s completely baffling to people in D.C.”
Carlson went on to explain that “Yale-educated” bureaucrats and “non-profit” executives in the nation’s capital have been conditioned to believe that all Hispanics support mass illegal immigration because they have been taught to view the issue through the lens of “identity politics.”
“The problem is, you’re an idiot. You have no idea what you’re talking about, but you have no clue how ignorant you are — how could you know? You never leave Bethesda,” the host declared.
Carlson then noted that Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar, whose district includes Starr and Zapata counties, said during a Fox News interview over the weekend that he has been unable to find out the numbers of migrants entering the U.S. illegally and that the Biden administration is purposefully hiding those numbers.
“I think in February we’re gonna get about 100,000 [migrants]. And again, I don’t care what we call it, but I can tell you this, those numbers of people that are being released, they’re purposely withholding that information. They’ve been told not to withhold that information,” Cuellar said.
“I now know that they’re bringing people from McAllen over to Laredo, processing them in Laredo, and they’re gonna release them in my community. I represent both areas, the valley and of course, part of the valley in Laredo, and I’ve seen this before,” he added.
“The Biden administration is purposefully withholding that information. Now, why would they do that? How bad is it? Again, this is an elected Democrat admitting that he has no idea how many people are flooding into his community every day,” Carlson responded after playing a clip of Cuellar’s interview.
“He’s supposed to be representing this county but he has no idea how many of these people compete for his constituents for jobs,” said the host. “The situation is that out of control.
“Now, that’s not a problem if you’re Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, it’s cool, but it is if you actually live there and you’re poor, it’s a huge problem,” said Carlson.
