Ingraham: Dems using Capitol lockdown distraction while ignoring a real invasion at the border

Fox News host Laura Ingraham blasted Democrats during her opening monologue on Thursday for looking the other way as a new migrant crisis besieges the southwest border even as they lock Americans out of the Capitol with armed troops and razor wire fencing.

Calling the segment a “Tale of Two Invasions,” Ingraham noted that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats pushed the narrative of a pending second “insurrection” at the Capitol in order to continue justifying the fortifications.

Ingraham said that the Speaker was using National Guard forces as her personal “military props” while noting the mainstream media’s outsized coverage, especially Thursday after she adjourned the House, of the continued need for heightened security and fencing.

“Yes, they want you to believe that Donald Trump supporters pose an ongoing threat to the functioning of our democracy,” Ingraham said following a montage of clips featuring Democrats who said they were concerned GOP voters were set to besiege the Capitol on what was historically Inauguration Day until the 20th Amendment was ratified in 1933 changing the date to Jan. 20.

“Based on vague intelligence of a potential invasion of the capitol, Pelosi canceled today’s session and rushed votes on two radical pieces of legislation that happened late last night. How convenient? This is what democracy looks like under Pelosi: Voting while most people are sleeping and then walling off the capitol for the foreseeable future to prevent you, the American people, from ever peacefully gathering and being heard there,” Ingraham said.

She went on to say that by installing fencing and troops, Pelosi has “canceled our First Amendment right to assemble and petition our government.”

Ingraham observed that Democrats have enthusiastically embraced permanent stationing of Guard troops and “prison-camp”-style fencing because they believe they can use the optics for political advantage.

“Democrats want this image front and center through 2022 to keep voters fearful of Republicans,” she said, noting that Pelosi is getting lots of assistance from the media.

In particular, Ingraham singled out MSNBC host Joe Scarborough, a former Florida Republican lawmaker who has turned into one of the GOP’s biggest critics in the age of Donald Trump, calling him “the chief of misinformation.”

“It’s not a surprise that these terrorists that attacked on 1/6 inspired other future terrorists,” Scarborough said in a clip Ingraham played.

”Bravo — What a performance Joe,” Ingraham said in response before comparing him to others like the Q-Anon “Shaman” Jake Chansley who was charged in the Capitol riot and asking which is “more deranged.”

Ingraham then cited another “invasion” — the burgeoning migrant crisis on the southwestern border — that Democrats seem far less concerned about, even though more than 100 of whom recently released into the country tested positive for COVID-19.

“Meanwhile, they don’t want to talk about the real invasion happening right now at our southern border. We had around 800 people marching in the Capitol. We could see hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants reaching our border by the end of the year. We didn’t expect to see as many as 11,000 unaccompanied children and our sources say that’s only about one-fourth of the total number,” said Ingraham.

“Trump didn’t tell people to go into the Capitol and commit crimes. That’s a law. Biden, through his policies, has said [to illegal immigrants] ‘however you get here, you can stay,’” the host continued. “He has single-handedly given us the worst immigration crisis that we have ever confronted — and during a pandemic no less.’

Thought here is “literally no threat” to the Capitol Building Complex, Ingraham said, she speculated that the troop deployments will likely wind up costing taxpayers $1 billion while Biden’s policies encourage mass migration and border violations.

“Biden and his puppeteers don’t value American citizenship obviously. They feel free to crack down on our rights. They call us names like Neanderthals and deplorables and drive down wages for the migrants,” she said, referencing Biden’s claim that Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s recent announcement he was suspending all COVID restrictions was “Neanderthal thinking.”

“There’s an invasion in America that the Democrats wholeheartedly support. It depletes our resources, endangers border patrol, erodes the public trust in our rule of law,” Ingraham said.

“When migrants are being put in hotels and National Guard are put in a [parking] garage and eat moldy food, you get a sense of where their real priorities are.”
