Trump names new impeachment attorneys; Democrats get right to work smearing them

With former President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial set to start in eight days, which is when Senate Democrats will try to remove a private citizen from an office he no longer holds, the target of their ire announced a new legal defense team.

Just as quickly, the left reportedly set about trying to cancel the attorneys — consumed with hatred for Trump, they apparently want to deny him legal representation, which may say all that needs to be said about the chances of a conviction.

The announcement came Sunday, one day after it was reported that Trump’s previous legal team had departed the case over a disagreement in legal strategy — according to CNN, Trump “wanted the attorneys to argue there was mass election fraud and it was stolen from him rather than focus on proposed arguments about constitutionality.”

Lawyers David Schoen and Bruce L. Castor Jr. will lead Trump’s defense against an article of impeachment charging incitement of insurrection after the storming of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. More and more evidence has surfaced since the Democrats in the House rushed to impeach Trump suggesting the attack was planned in advance.

The statement from Trump said the two attorneys will bring “national profiles and significant trial experience in high-profile cases to the effort.”

“Both Schoen and Castor agree that this impeachment is unconstitutional – a fact 45 Senators voted in agreement with last week,” the statement read.

With 45 Republican senators effectively saying the trial violates the Constitution, this is more than enough to prevent conviction which requires two thirds of the Senate.

“I consider it a privilege to represent the 45th President,” Castor said. “The strength of our Constitution is about to be tested like never before in our history. It is strong and resilient. A document written for the ages, and it will triumph over partisanship yet again, and always.”

Schoen has represented longtime Trump ally Roger Stone in a sentencing appeal and met with sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein before his death to discuss leading his defense team.

Castor is a former district attorney in Pennsylvania known for declining to prosecute actor-comedian Bill Cosby in 2005 on sexual assault charges.

Alexander Muse took to social media Sunday to charge that “Democrats are waging war against two lawyers.”

“As a result, it is reported that Boston College Law School, Columbia University Law School, Washington & Lee University are already facing calls from wealthy Democratic alumni to withdraw Schoen and Castor’s law degrees,” Muse tweeted, without citing his source.

“Additionally, The Clerk of the Supreme Court of the U. S. has also received demands that Schoen and Castor be removed from the Supreme Court bar,” he said in a series of tweets. “The Scottish Rite is also under pressure to expel Castor, a 33rd Degree Mason, from their ranks. Even his church, Abington Presbyterian Church, is being asked to ex-communicate the lawyer.”

After stating the Alabama Civil Liberties Union “is under pressure to remove Schoen from their board as is the Southern Christian Leadership Conference,” Muse named the “disgraced” Lincoln Project, along with Democrats, saying that “every American deserves a vigorous and robust defense.”

The Lincoln Project is mired in a scandalous claim that its cofounder, John Weaver,  ‘harassed’ over 20 young men, including a 14-year-old boy, with ‘sexual’ messages.

The other grifters in the Trump-hating cabal are scrambling to distance themselves from Weaver, hoping to keep the cash cow on its feet, though reports suggest that his behavior was no real secret.
