With the corrupt media establishment investing so much time and energy toward lampooning Sidney Powell after the attorney launched a spirited effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election, and linking her to the Trump White House is paramount.
But Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani took great care to stress that Powell “is not part of our legal team.”
ABC News reported over the weekend that Trump “welcomed the conspiracy-minded flamethrower back into the White House” on Friday, and that Powell had advised him to chart a scorched earth policy.
New York Times columnist Maggie Haberman tweeted that Powell was at the White House on Monday, citing anonymous sources: “Four people briefed on events said Sidney Powell was back at the White House again today, for third time in four days.”

Politico congressional reporter Kyle Cheney offered a day-by-day accounting of Powell’s whereabouts, which also included three alleged White House visits since Friday.
Cheney also noted that Republican lawmakers met with the president on Monday in what was widely reported as a strategy session ahead of Congress convening on Jan. 6 to officially tally the Electoral College votes.

Giuliani appeared Monday on Newsmax TV’s Spicer & Co, and stressed that despite the visits, Powell is acting independently and her efforts are not associated with the campaign’s official challenges to the election.
Host Sean Spicer commented on the reported visits and on rumors of her possibly being appointed a special counsel — there are no shortage of wild rumors from the Trump-hating media these days.
“Let me say definitely, Sidney Powell is not part of our legal team, she hasn’t been for five weeks,” Giuliani said. “She is not a special counsel for the president, she does not speak for the president, nor does she speak for the administration.”
“She speaks for herself,” he continued. “She’s a fine woman, a fine lawyer. Whatever she’s talking about is her own opinion. I’m not responsible for it, the president isn’t, nor is anyone else on our legal team.”

When Spicer pressed on a possible role for Powell, Giuliani’s response was seen as a slight against Powell’s tactics.
“We’re going to be extremely aggressive, we’re going to fight for our client as hard as we can,” Giuliani said. “But we are also going to do it within the bounds of rationality, common sense, and the law. And it can be done. There’s no reason to go beyond anything.”

Earlier in the conversation, Giuliani told Spicer that he can’t even get on Fox News anymore.
“If I say the word ‘fraud,’ I’m thrown off the network,” he claimed. “I’m sorry, there was fraud. I’m telling the truth, and they’re lying.”
