House Dems challenge election results of 2 GOP seats; implore Pelosi to intervene

“The Cook Political Report” predicted the Democrat-run House was “poised to expand [its] majority by 10 to 15 Seats,” but the reality was far different, with the party losing at least 10 seats, with two races yet to be decided — the “crushing down-ballot losses,” as described by the New York Times, coming as Joe Biden somehow drew more votes than President Trump.

As for the two remaining seats, with Democrats having their slimmest majority since at least World War II, some in the Party are reportedly looking to challenge results in these races, which would put their media allies in a precarious position, having spent the last four weeks attacking the Trump campaign for doing so.

The Democrats are represented by Marc Elias, the attorney behind the Party’s efforts to expand vote-by-mail, and they are apparently hatching a plot to convince Speaker Nancy Pelosi and the House Administration Committee “to certify at least one of the candidates as the winners — even if the Republican candidate appears to have more votes as counted by state election authorities,” Breitbart News and others reported.

Citing the Federal Contested Elections Act, the conservative news site noted that the House can step in and certify a winner in contested races, pointing to 1985 as the last time Democrats did so — the House Administration Committee declared Rep. Frank McCloskey, D-Ind., the winner in a close race were GOP challenger Richard McIntyre was certified as the winner by state election authorities.

The real question behind all of this is where does House Speaker Nancy Pelosi really fall in all of this? Is she the woman behind the curtain pulling the strings, or is she just another box to check off to ensure the successful completion of the plan? Having just 222 seats currently and needing 218 to pass legislation, Pelosi has little room for defections.

The two races in question are in Iowa and New York, with the GOP candidate having received more votes.

More from Breitbart News:

Politico reported this week that Democrats, led by Elias and Perkins Coie, have a similar plan for a contested House race in Iowa, where Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks has been certified as the winner of the 2nd congressional district race by six votes over Democrat Rita Hart.

The Wall Street Journal likewise observed in an editorial Saturday: “Ms. Hart’s campaign said it will bypass an Iowa court appeal and ask the Committee on House Administration to intervene. The House has final say on its Members’ elections and the Supreme Court has held that courts can’t intervene in those decisions under the Constitution’s Article I.”

In New York, Republican challenger Claudia Tenney is leading Rep. Anthony Brindisi (D-NY) by 12 votes. Marc Elias and his Perkins Coie law firm are leading Democrats’ legal challenges in both elections.

Back to Elias, the article also stressed that he “was responsible for hiring opposition research firm Fusion GPS, on behalf of Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee, to produce the fraudulent “Russia dossier” on then-candidate Donald Trump in 2016.”

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, responded to the story by taking a poke at the corrupt media establishment.

After employing two emojis of a face screaming in fear to sandwich the term “grasps pearls,” he tweeted: “But, but, if they challenge an election result in court, doesn’t that mean…they hate democracy?!? That’s what the media told me….”

The best critics could do in responding to Cruz’s tweet, aside from attacking him and justifying the act of Democrats challenging election outcomes, was to correct the GOP senator’s choice of words, a point Cruz conceded.
