Pete Davidson, a comedian worth an estimated $4 million and known for making fun of injured combat veterans, mocked Staten Island coronavirus lockdown protesters as “babies” during the most recent airing of “Saturday Night Live.”
Last week two struggling Staten Island bar owners, Keith McAlarney and Danny Presti, declared Mac’s Public House to be an autonomous zone in defiance of New York Gov. Chris Cuomo’s strict coronavirus lockdown restrictions. Presti was subsequently arrested, after which a lockdown protest was held outside the bar.
Speaking about the protest in particular, Davidson said, “I’m happy I’m no longer the first thing people think of when they say, what’s the worst thing about Staten Island.”
Was that supposed to be a joke?
“What exactly were they protesting? The bar, shockingly, is in a neighborhood with the second-highest COVID infections in all of New York, so the rule is that they’re only supposed to let people eat or drink outside” he continued.
“And the owner said no one wants to do that because they’ll go out of business. But the argument that people on Staten Island don’t want to drink outside can be disproven by going to any Little League game.”
Except for Little League games aren’t held in late fall and early winter when temperatures in Staten Island are known to fall as low as 41 degrees, the HIGH for Dec. 6th, 2020.
“One guy at the protest even gave a speech where he literally compared not being able to drink indoors to being Jewish during the Holocaust, which must have been awkward for the people there who had to suddenly pretend they believed in the holocaust,” Davidson continued.
It’s not clear whether that too was meant to be a joke.
He added that the protesters are “making us look like babies” and that he believes everybody should just stay at home and fritter away their time.
“Everyone wants to go have fun, but there’s plenty of stuff you can do at home, you know, like use your official Pete Davidson vibrator!” he said.
He then switched to discussing other topics.

As of Sunday morning, the video above had over 10,000 likes, all presumably from left-wing elites or elite wannabees who have no inkling of what it means to actually work hard.
During the protest outside Mac’s Public House, another local business owner, Joseph Cannizzo, pointed to the city and state’s exorbitant tax rates as just one example of why Cuomo’s coronavirus restrictions simply aren’t feasible.
“We pay high city tax. We pay high state tax. We pay high federal tax like everybody else. A lot of us need to operate above a certain capacity just to be able to even pay our bills and pay our staff,” he said.
Another local, a woman named Carol, said she supports McAlarney and Presti, the defiant owners of Mac’s Public House, because people need to earn a living.
“I actually support [them]. I believe that people should be allowed to earn a buck with their business. I think that a lot of the hype is a little bit exaggerated,” she said.

McAlarney can also be heard in the video above.
“I’m allowed to be inside my private property. I pay my rent. They’re saying right now I can’t serve food and I can’t serve alcohol. I’m just trying to support my family. We’ve asked you guys to work with us. You refuse to work with us,” he says.
Presti, McAlarney’s partner, was arrested Tuesday after he’d declared the bar an “autonomous zone” and continued serving customers in defiance of Cuomo.
Even after being released the next day, he continued vowing to “not close” and blamed the lack of a diplomatic solution on the city’s politicians.

“We’ve pleaded with the mayor and the governor and the sheriff to help work with us and to get small businesses open, or to assist us in some way,” he said Friday while speaking with the host of Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
“Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened. So the timeline has ended, and we’re here to tell you that Mac’s Public House is officially open and we will not close.”
Carlson agreed with the sentiment, arguing that “every small business owner, every single one who has come on this show to explain what’s happening under corona law has been harassed by the state they live in, in some cases, arrested. In a number of cases, arrested.”
“This cannot go on, it’s so obviously political, it so clearly divorced from science,” he added, promising to monitor the ongoing events.”
