Fox News host Jeanine Pirro laced into Attorney General William Barr during her opening statement on Saturday, accusing him of being a “reptile” who hasn’t done enough to ensure the 2020 election was free of fraud.

Noting that “extraordinary regulatory oversight” was “required” this year because more than 100 million Americans voted early as “election laws” in states “were changed on the eve of that election,” Pirro, a former New York state court judge and prosecutor, suggested that Barr failed to provide it.

“Extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures and leaders,” Pirro said. “Unfortunately, the Attorney General Bill Barr has proven himself to be anything other than extraordinary.”

Pirro then ripped Barr for saying last week in an interview with The Associated Press that the Justice Department had not seen any evidence of widespread election fraud, even as states have not all certified their electors.

She also noted that the AG’s statement came as President Donald Trump’s campaign legal team continues challenging results in several of them based on volumes of testimony and witness statements attesting to fraud.

The former judge and prosecutor then noted that DoJ “guidelines do not allow comment on investigations.”

“They neither confirm nor deny the existence of any investigation, yet Barr actually goes beyond that and takes it upon himself in the midst of a presidential election…that there is not sufficient evidence,” she said.

“So why would Barr do that? Why would he not continue an investigation as the evidence continues to come in?” Pirro asked. “Why would he even share information on a pending investigation? It’s just not done.”

After the AP reported Barr’s comments, a Justice Department spokesperson pushed back, claiming that the DoJ would “continue to receive and vigorously pursue all specific and credible allegations of fraud as expeditiously as possible.”

Pirro then ticked off a series of rhetorical questions for the AG and the DoJ to investigate and answer for the president’s 74 million voters regarding irregular and potentially illegal actions that have been reported in several battleground states.

“Bill, did you really have an answer to all those questions before you made your premature comments? Have your U.S. attorneys even finished their investigations?” Pirro asked.

The host then said Barr seemed “unflappable” when he was first appointed by President Trump and “said all the right things.”

“But you haven’t done anything that makes you any different from your predecessor, the one who spent two years hiding under his desk, Jeff Sessions,” Pirro assailed.

“Where is the [special prosecutor John] Durham report? Where are the prosecutions of individuals referred to you by the inspector general, like [fired FBI Director] James Comey for perjury and [fired FBI Deputy Director] Andrew McCabe for perjury?” she said.

Pirro then hit Barr for “protecting” former President Barack Obama and then-Vice President Joe Biden shortly after taking over as attorney general before playing a clip of the AG saying he hadn’t seen any evidence implicating either man in wrongdoing over the Russian collusion scandal.

“Do you really want America to believe that one low-level FBI attorney by the name of Kevin Clinesmith is the only one person responsible for the Russian collusion delusion? You affirmatively exonerate Joe Biden running for president,” she continued, adding that the then-VP was with Obama, Comey, and others during an early January 2017 meeting when they discussed setting up Trump’s incoming national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

“You say you don’t want to weaponize the DoJ against political enemies. Charging someone who commits a crime, by the way, is not weaponizing the Department of Justice. It’s fulfilling your legal obligation, your mission,” Pirro continued. “It’s your job.”

Pirro then reminded viewers that Barr said as he began his tenure that the Justice Department and FBI used different standards regarding investigations into then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified materials and President Trump.

“You said that, and you can’t allow that to ever happen again,” Pirro said. “How — if you don’t sanction or penalize or prosecute, of course, it’s gonna happen again. You’ve incentivized them to do it again. You’ve created the precedent that these cases are not to be prosecuted.”

She went on to blast the notion of simply issuing a “lessons learned” report “that no one reads” to “bury in-your-face corruption.”

Pirro also criticized Barr’s decision to name Durham as special prosecutor. She said that despite the AG’s claims Durham can’t be removed by a President Biden so easily, Biden nevertheless would fire him and that Democrats who opposed any move by Trump to fire special counsel Robert Mueller will support Biden’s dismissal of Durham.

“Surprise, surprise. The Democrats are gonna get away with it again,” Pirro said, adding that Trump’s supporters are “furious” over the “Russian collusion hoax.”

“We need answers. We need action. We need justice. And you, Mr. Barr, are so deep in the swamp you can’t see beyond your fellow reptiles, and you are not the exceptional leader needed at this exceptional time in history,” she concluded.
