Fifty-five uncounted ballots have complicated the still-undecided outcome of the U.S. House election in the 22nd congressional district in the Binghamton, N.Y., area where GOP candidate Claudia Tenney seeks to reclaim the seat that she narrowly lost to Anthony Brindisi in 2018.

On Monday, before the mislaid ballots in Chenango County, N.Y., were discovered, Tenney was ahead of her rival by just 12 votes. Of the 55, 11 were reportedly submitted by unregistered voters and are apparently being excluded.

“Chenango County Elections Commissioner Carol Franklin [said] all of the newly discovered ballots were affidavit ballots submitted during the state’s nine-day early voting period. Franklin said she had no explanation for why the ballots were not counted,” Syracuse.com reported. The votes in question are being secured and temporarily unopened.

With input from both campaigns, a local judge is set to rule on 2,000 disputed absentee ballots in the race. In what is a familiar trend to anyone who follows politics, “The Brindisi-Tenney contest has been a seesawing affair, with the Republican jumping to a nearly 29,000-vote lead on election night — only to see that lead disappear as mail-in ballots were counted,” the New York Post noted.

Regardless of who emerges as the winner, further legal wrangling is likely. Tenny, however, has already attended orientation for new members of Congress.

Contrary to what the so-called experts projected, the GOP pick up seats in the House, particularly with staunch, pro-Trump female candidates in the vanguard, and no Republican incumbent wound up losing, resulting in the Democrats holding on to just a narrow majority in the chamber.

In a pre-Thanksgiving appearance on Fox News, Claudia Tenney criticized New York’s Democrat governor for watering down ballot security measures as the left has done throughout the country for Election 2020.

“Here is what has happened. Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order in August altering the election rules and altering how we are going to process elections. So we allowed no-excuse absentee ballots, that means anyone can get an absentee ballot…[they] can apply for it online,  you didn’t have to verify, you just have to have your name, date of birth, and address and your absentee ballot would be sent,” Tenney told Ingraham Angle substitute host Tammy Bruce.

“There’s so much room for fraud here…The administrative burden on these boards of elections has been just exhaustive, and you have people that do not have the resources operating under these COVID virus restrictions trying to count ballots — some by hand — and dealing with 70,000 absentee ballots in a race where the normal amount is about 7,000, with no staff, and they are trying to make this happen. It’s rife with fraud.”

Claiming that some dead people voted in the district, Tenney observed that “Democrats usually win by process, not by policies.”
