Despite Democrats’ devastating losses in the 2020 race, which significantly reduced their majority lead in the U.S. House, their most radical members continue to double, triple and quadruple down on their alienating extremism, starting with AOC.

In a tweet posted Thursday, Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez lashed out angrily at a fellow Democrat for the apparent crime of pushing back on her brand of radicalism.

A day earlier, 10-year Senate veteran Joe Manchin of the solidly red state of West Virginia had posted a tweet slamming Democrats like AOC over their “crazy” schemes.

The senator had made it clear in the tweet that he has no interest in pursuing a “socialist agenda” or in “defunding the police.”

“Defund the police? Defund, my butt,” he’d bluntly written.

Look:

This apparently infuriated AOC, a far-left Democrat who is stubbornly convinced that what America wants and needs is a radical agenda.

In a tweet that received over 500,000 likes from her millennial-aged groupies — as a reminder, millennials are so misinformed that they’d gladly trade their freedoms for a life under communism — she unleashed all her rage.

Look:

Was that the stare of death or the stare of a fool?

Though the tweet garnered a great many likes, it also provoked a response from more “moderate” leftists who recognize that AOC’s radicalism is alienating people.

“AOC, girl, I have so much respect for you but you are really starting to piss me off. Change is gradual. It takes compromise. Please stop hurting the party. It doesn’t always have to be a purity test. You’re hurting our chances. Stop, please!” one leftist bluntly wrote.

Wow …

Their anger is palpable. The problem is that neither AOC nor her peers in the so-called Squad, including Rep. Rashida Tlaib, believe in moderation. As full-fledged radicals, they desire to be bulls in a china shop. In other words, they want to be a left-wing Donald Trump.

“Rashida Tlaib isn’t apologizing for wanting to yank money away from bad police departments. She has no second thoughts about her embrace of the Black Lives Matter movement, or for wanting to aggressively fight climate change,” Politico reported Tuesday.

Her anger is the result of chiding she’s faced from senior Democrats like Rep. Jim Clyburn, a 27-year House veteran.

Last week Clyburn, a black Democrat who represents South Carolina, warned Democrats like Tlaib that if “we are going to run on Medicare for All, defund the police, socialized medicine, we’re not going to win.”

In response, Tlaib cried foul.

Speaking with Politico this week, Tlaib doubled down.

“We are not interested in unity that asks people to sacrifice their freedom and their rights any longer,” she said.

“And if we truly want to unify our country, we have to really respect every single voice. We say that so willingly when we talk about Trump supporters, but we don’t say that willingly for my black and brown neighbors and from LGBTQ neighbors or marginalized people.”

Her remarks were so detached from reality. Mainstream American society and culture currently center exclusively around the struggles of so-called “black and brown” and LGBTQ people.

The examples are numerous:

Meanwhile, Trump supporters are being placed on lists for the crime of simply supporting America’s duly-elected president, Donald Trump.

But that’s the thing — AOC and Talib’s entire shtick is based on a gross misperception of reality, as demonstrated for instance by Ocasio-Cortez’s claim that opposition to socialist policies and defunding the policies is rooted in “racial resentment”:

If the Squad members want to double down on this dubious line of thinking, that’s certainly their prerogative — and there’s certainly a market for it among millennials.

But whether or not this line of thinking will ever appeal to grown, working-class men and women — well, that’s a different question altogether.
