Another day, another left-wing conspiracy theory that’s been allowed to prosper on Twitter even as objective reporting by conservative outlets is censored …
On Friday, far-left zealots on Twitter — many of them with blue checkmarks — began parading another conspiracy theory about a fake first lady Melania Trump.
The theory, which has existed for a while now, has been that photos and videos of the first lady haven’t actually been of her but rather of a body double.
Here’s the thing — the theory has already been debunked by both common sense (HELLO?) and also by two mainstream media outlets.
The most recent fact-check came Tuesday courtesy of USA Today, which would deserve more credit if it hadn’t gone on to fact-check The Babylon Bee three days later.
“A photo of President Donald Trump and the first lady on Marine One en route to the final presidential debate in Nashville, Tennessee, has revitalized a conspiracy theory that the White House uses a body double to sub in for Melania Trump,” USA Today’s fact-check of the Melania theory reads.
“There’s no body double — just distorted video, anomalous photos, and coincidence. Each time, the allegations center on photos or videos of Melania Trump that social media users think just don’t look like her. But that’s relatively easily explained.”
Unless you’re a left-wing lunatic suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome …
Despite this conspiracy theory being debunked by left-wing outlets themselves, it blew right back up on Twitter this Friday thanks to the first lady’s appearance at a Trump rally in Florida on Friday.
What specifically triggered the conspiracy theory’s reemergence was Melania warmly kissing her husband, President Donald Trump, multiple times.

Melania issued a statement the other day that she was still coughing too much from COVID and wouldn’t be joining Donald on his goodbye tour. Now it appears there’s a fake happy Melania who’s with him. Hmm.
Oh and where’s Bill Barr?

Though there’s a whole lot more where that came from, keep in mind the ones listed below all came from very high-profile people, including a Hollywood actor.
Now, while it’s true they may have been joking around, the fact either way remains that they should be allowed to practice free speech, even if their ideas are bizarre, right?
But that’s the problem. On Twitter, only certain people are allowed to practice full, unadulterated free speech — and those people are liberals and leftists.
As of Saturday afternoon, not a single one of the tweets above had been labeled as misinformation or censored in any way, shape or form.
Meanwhile, countless tweets — some from Republican President Donald Trump, others from conservative journalists — still remained censored, even including some containing nothing but objective reporting.
Keep in mind the peddling of the Melania conspiracy theory comes only days after the account of U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark A. Morgan., a government official, was suspended for celebrating the success of the president’s border wall.
It likewise comes only weeks after the account of the New York Post was suspended for sharing bombshell allegations about Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden’s youngest son, Hunter, that were labeled “conspiracy theories” and “misinformation” by left-wing journalists.

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe confirmed that the allegations were neither, but that didn’t stop Twitter from keeping the Post locked out of its account for two weeks. Not until this Friday did the social media network finally relent.
Yet the same network won’t even pin “misinformation” labels to conspiracy theories about Melania. And for a second there it seemed it’d also do very little about tweets justifying the murder of millions of people.
In a tweet posted Thursday morning, former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad responded to recent terror attacks in France by writing that “Muslims have a right to be angry and to kill millions of French people for the massacres of the past.”
Shortly after Mohamad posted the hateful tweet, Twitter added nothing more than a meager warning label to the tweet.
“This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about glorifying violence. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible,” the warning read.
Absolutely pathetic double standards from Twitter
The former Prime Minister of Malaysia, with 1.3 million followers, says “Muslims have the right to be angry and to kill millions of French people” yet they say it is “in the public interest for it to remain accessible” 😩 pic.twitter.com/ZwhKMk8QsQ

The stunning double standard provoked so much outrage that Twitter eventually relented and deleted the tweet.
