Fox News host Tucker Carlson triggered liberals after a segment on his show exposing NBC News reporter Brandy Zadrozny for allegedly targeting supporters of President Donald Trump.

NBC News and colleagues of Zadrozny quickly came to her defense after Carlson focused on her work during “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Wednesday, explaining that her job “is personally seeking out and identifying information about anonymous Trump supporters online.” Conservative firebrand Michelle Malkin backed the accusations against Zadrozny in her own social media comments following the program.

Carlson spoke with Darren Beattie from Revolver News, who said Zadrozny was “doing everything she can to unearth anonymous Trump supporters basically so she can ruin their lives.”

“Why would NBC News be doing something like this?” the Fox News host, who had quoted Zadrozny on her methods, asked.

Zadrozny and journalists like her are attempting to “crush the rebellion of the American people against their corrupt ruling class associated with the victory of Donald Trump,” Beattie told Carlson as they noted how phone records, property records and “even Amazon wish lists” have been accessed to identify anonymous Trump supporters.

“There’s one aspect of this story that may be even more disturbing than what you described,” Beattie continued, explaining that the NBC News reporters “used this term ‘disinformation’ as a pretext to go after Trump supporters and destroy their lives.”

“Disinformation is this new buzzword, the new pretext used to silence Trump supporters What is especially dangerous about this is that it brings this force to bear in a national security context, disinformation is a national security term. It invites the force of our own national security apparatus to silence Trump supporters domestically,” he added.

“For a news organization to work in concert with the federal agencies to repress dissent domestically, I never imagined that would happen, but that is happening,” Carlson remarked.

NBC News PR and many others took to Twitter to defend Zadrozny and attack Carlson for the segment.

Carlson was slammed over the “disgraceful” segment by Zadrozny’s NBC colleague Ben Collins who accused Beattie of “tweeting retributively” after she reached out to him for a story she was doing.

Collins slammed the “hideously unethical segment” and claimed Zadrozny was “using basic reporting tools.”

Dozens of others also came to the reporter’s defense, happy to pile on Carlson and Beattie for the segment.

“One of the finest reporters we have, bar none, and this is bullying garbage,” MSNBC’s Chris Hayes tweeted.

“She handles a tough beat with tenacity & grace, and we’re all better for having her out there telling the truth,” the official Twitter account for MSNBC’s “The 11th Hour With Brian Williams” declared.

Others also chimed in to defend Zadrozny.

But conservative author and commentator Michelle Malkin threw cold water on the left’s fire against Carlson and Beattie who reported on the “crucial unmasking” of the “left-wing political hitwoman.”

Malkin linked to her own story on the reporter whom she called out as someone who “masquerades” as an NBC journalist while she “targets patriots, medical freedom advocates & dissident right through doxxing, defaming & deplatforming.”

Malkin called attention to how Twitter came to Zadrozny’s aid after Beattie exposed her “sleazeball tactics.”

“Silicon Valley & corporate media election meddling & information rigging on steroids!” she tweeted.

After promoting the Carlson segment, Malkin also told her 2.2 million Twitter followers that she would be keeping a “running list” of Zadrozny’s victims.
