Just when you think 2020 can’t get any stranger, a man decided so dangle off the side of Trump Tower in Chicago and demand to speak with President Donald Trump.
Identifying himself as a Black Lives Matter activist, a man believed to be in his 20s used a climbing harness to hang off the 16th-floor balcony of the building. Adding to the drama, a live video of the man talking about his predicament was shared online.
The troubled man threatened to cut the harness and fall to his death if his demands were not met.
“I don’t want to die. If someone will try to pull this rope, I will jump and die,” the man said. A knife can be seen in his hand, as he panned the camera downward for a view of the Chicago River below him.

“If Mr. Trump — he promise something, he should do before the election,” the man said at one point, although he offered no more explanation about why he wanted to talk to the president.
“I have a knife,” he added. “If someone will try to pull [the harness], I will cut it and I will probably die. But I don’t want to die.”
For what it’s worth, the president was on the West Coast Sunday evening, holding a rally in Carson City, Nevada.
The man also asked to get his message out to the media, but again didn’t elaborate on what that message was.
And while his actions may appear to be rather crazy, the man insisted that he wasn’t.
“Everyone who knows me, they know I am not crazy,” he said. “I am not crazy. I am well-educated guy. But … Mr. Trump, if you think I am crazy, I am not crazy. And if you will not talk with me, I will cut, I will die.”

Traffic has been blocked around Trump Tower, which overlooks the Chicago River, and Chicago Police spokesman Tom Ahern said a negotiator was on the deck trying to get the man down, according to the Chicago Sun.
A voice can be heard in the first video shared above trying to reason with the man.
