For the deranged left, everything bad that happens in America is President Donald Trump’s fault.
Even if it’s an alleged diabolical plan by extremists to kidnap Michigan’s Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and overthrow the state government.
Federal and state law enforcement foiled the plan that was part of a larger effort to instigate a civil unrest, announcing the arrest of 13 people, who are members of two militia groups.
Leave it to Gov. Whitmer, who has drawn a lot of ire in Michigan for the over the top authoritarian actions she imposed to counter the coronavirus pandemic, to blame the president and claim he was “complicit” in the plot to kidnap her.

Notoriously anti-Trump, the Democrat used the incident to attack Trump, claiming he has “legitimized” domestic terrorists — the White House was quick to push back, accusing her of “sowing division by making these outlandish allegations.”
“This should be a moment for national unity, where we all pull together as Americans to meet this challenge head-on,” Whitmer said. “Instead, our head of state has spent the past seven months denying science, ignoring his own health experts, stoking distrust, fomenting anger, and giving comfort to those who spread fear and hatred and division.”
She cited the false narrative that emerged from last week’s presidential debate that President Trump “refused to condemn white supremacists and hate groups like these two Michigan militia groups” — one of the leaders of the group reportedly supported anarchy and saw the police as “a violent gang,” and called Trump a “tyrant.”
“Hate groups heard the president’s words not as a rebuke, but as a rallying cry, as a call to action,” the governor added. “When our leaders speak, their words matter. They carry weight. When our leaders meet with, encourage, or fraternize with domestic terrorists, they legitimize their actions, and they are complicit. When they stoke and contribute to hate speech, they are complicit.”
Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller responded to Whitmer by calling her a “complete phony” driven by “hatred in her heart towards President Trump.”
“These are some pretty shameful comments from Governor Whitmer,” Miller said in an appearance on Fox News’ Bill Hemmer Reports. “How you can go from a moment of unity to attacking President Trump, I thought was just completely ridiculous. If we want to talk about hatred, and then Governor Whitmer, go look in the mirror.”
He accurately noted that the president has repeatedly condemned radical groups on the right and left — even though the media often says otherwise.
“We are all united standing against anyone who would conspire to cause such hatred and violence,” Miller said. “There is no place for that in American society in any way, shape, or form, but why Governor Whitmer would go and start attacking President Trump, this is just — people can see right through it and people can see that Governor Whitmer is a complete phony and it is just disgusting that she would take a moment of unity to attack the president.”
Naturally, Whitmer responded to Miller by playing the victim, even though she fired the first salvo.
“I think it tells you everything you need to know about the White House and the people they surround themselves by,” she said on CNN. “The fact that after a plot to kidnap and to kill me, this is what they come out with. They attack me.”
