President Donald Trump triggered the liberals in the White House Correspondents’ Association when he decided to thank supporters who had gathered outside the hospital.
The president’s show of gratitude to Americans gathered outside Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, where he has been receiving treatment for the coronavirus, was blasted by the journalist organization on Sunday as “outrageous” because the press pool was not informed ahead of his brief trip outdoors.
After tweeting a message on Sunday that he would make a surprise visit to “the great patriots” who were assembled outside the facility, Trump was soon seen in a video wearing a mask and waving to the crowd from the back seat of an SUV that drove by in a motorcade.
“President Trump took a short, last-minute motorcade ride to wave to his supporters outside and has now returned to the Presidential Suite inside Walter Reed,” deputy White House press secretary Judd Deere said in a statement on Sunday.

The president was said to be improving well from the virus by doctors at Walter Reed who said Sunday that he could be discharged as early as Monday.
But the pearl-clutching critics of the president were highly disturbed by the surprise move to bring a smile to supporters on the streets outside the hospital, as the White House Correspondents’ Association lamented the absence of the “protective pool” around Trump to report on the event.
When President Trump decided to leave the hospital to see supporters, he did without the pool of journalists that for decades has been there so the world can also watch when the president ventures out in public.

“It is outrageous for the president to have left the hospital — even briefly — amid a health crisis without a protective pool present to ensure that the American people know where their president is and how he is doing,” WHCA President Zeke Miller said in a statement.
“Now more than ever, the American public deserves independent coverage of the president so they can be reliably informed about his health,” the statement read.
The WHCA on President Trump’s decision today:

The outrage continued on CNN where anchor Ana Cabrera attacked Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller, accusing Trump of not “taking the simple precautions that could save lives.”
“He’s been downplaying the virus, and let’s just be honest: Let’s call a spade a spade,” Cabrera told Miller on Sunday. “He hasn’t worn a mask every time, he’s been holding these rallies without social distancing, without most of the people in the crowd wearing masks.”
Others blasted the move which they claimed put the Secret Service and others near the president in danger of being exposed to COVID-19 as well.
White House says the medical team was okay with Trump doing this: “Appropriate precautions were taken in the execution of this movement to protect the President and all those supporting it, including PPE. The movement was cleared by the medical team as safe to do.”

“This is truly unconscionable. It’s an insult to the Secret Service who put their lives at risk for him every day. It’s an insult to those treating him at the hospital,” U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar said in a tweet reacting to a Vice News report headlined, “Trump Just Exposed Secret Service to COVID-19 to Do a Drive-By for MAGA Supporters.”
The Minnesota Democrat was slammed for her hypocrisy.
Where were you when the secret service was getting concussions protecting the WH from leftwing mobs? https://t.co/TgEyE5xxHt

Do they really not think that there are secret service in his hospital room. Those guys never leave the presidents side

And the WHCA’s criticism of Trump’s decision to wave at supporters on Sunday was also torched on Twitter.
Most of the American patriots had their phones out and it’s all over the internet. That’s more honest than anything the WH press pool will put out.

My, my, listen to you. Obama disappeared during the entire Benghazi attack. A true deadly crisis. Vietor in Situation Room. No Obama. Emerged the next morning to express concern, then flew to Vegas. Refused to say where he was, to this day. So keep your faux outrage.

We knew exactly where he was and when he was going. Lot’s of video too. He even announced it ahead of time. Your services were not required.

The average American doesn’t care about your reporting bc the average American doesn’t trust you.
