Earlier this week federal authorities reportedly detected the highly deadly toxin ricin in three intercepted packages/letters that were addressed, respectively, to President Donald Trump, a Texas detention facility and a Texas sheriff’s office.

“Investigators believe that the letters were sent from Canada and have identified a woman as a suspect,” The New York Times reported Saturday, citing “a law enforcement official briefed on the matter.”

“The envelope to the White House was caught at the final off-site processing facility where mail is screened before being sent to the White House mail room, according to a second law enforcement official,” the Times’ report continued.

“The Postal Service irradiates mail that is addressed to the White House and other federal agencies in the Washington area, and the mail is sorted in a facility that samples the air for suspicious substances.”

Ricin is a highly potent toxin that can lead to death if simply inhaled, let alone injected or ingested.

Because of the timing of this report — which was dropped as social media was being flooded with threats from members of the far-left, including some “journalists,” who were apoplectic over the president vowing to nominate a replacement for the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg — some prominent conservatives assumed a link between the two events.

However, it seems highly unlikely for the letter to have been sent and intercepted — from Canada, to boot — after RBG’s death late Friday.

What’s realistic, however, is to draw a tie between this act of terror and the ongoing Democrat-sanctioned riots that have plagued the nation.

What’s also fair and realistic is to posit the argument that “they,” as former White House official Sebastian Gorka put it, “want to kill the president.”

Outspoken conservative actor James Woods felt similarly.

“It’s all-out war now being waged on our President, our government, and our nation. They are funded and organized and without morals. The Democrats have turned a blind eye to three full months of rioting, looting, and arson. It won’t stop until we stop it,” he tweeted.

Conservative commentator Jack Posobiec bluntly added, “They are trying to kill him.”

As of Sunday, a federal investigation was still underway, with Canadian authorities reportedly assisting.

“We are aware of the concerning reports of packages containing ricin directed toward US federal government sites. Canadian law enforcement is working closely with their US counterparts. As this is an active investigation we cannot comment further,” a spokesperson for Canadian Minister of Public Safety Bill Blair reportedly said in a statement.

News of the ricin attack came on the same day that left-wing extremists reportedly showed up to “counter-protest” a Proud Boys event in Philadephia.

Prior to the event, the following ominous flyers were spotted:

News of the ricin attack also came as Twitter was being flooded with violence-tinged rants from members of the far-left upset over Ginsburg’s death and the Republican Party’s plan to immediately move forward with nominating and confirming a replacement.
