GOP Congressman Ken Buck, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), and Georgia state rep. Vernon Jones are among those calling for a probe into who is paying anarchists and extremists who are creating havoc across the country, including the agitators who confronted attendees leaving President Trump’s White House acceptance speech on Thursday night, August 27.
In a tweet, Buck wrote that “The Justice Department needs to open an investigation into who is funding these violent riots.”

In footage that has gone viral, an unhinged mob swarmed around criminal justice reform supporter Paul, his wife, and several friends. Fortunately, police officers arrived and escorted the Paul party to a nearby hotel.
In an Op-Ed on the Fox News website, Paul also called for an investigation.
“My question is: Who are these people? Who paid for their hotel rooms? Who flew them in? Law enforcement needs to look at the funding of violent criminal activity like this. And national Democrats need to confront it. It’s organized. It’s paid for. It’s violent. It’s not about Black lives or any lives; it’s about anarchy and destruction. The American people are starting to catch on and grow tired of it.”
Paul added that some of the protesters were staying at the same hotel, including in the next room. “We had to develop a 3 a.m. plan with the Capitol Police to get to safety.”
Rand Paul has previously noted that it is a crime to both incite a riot and to pay someone to incite a riot.
Rep. Jones, a Trump-supporting Democrat, told Fox News that “Congress should hold hearings … and hear testimonies from those of us who are being attacked. It should also do a thorough investigation to see who’s funding … these professional domestic terrorists, and they should be held accountable.”
In a Twitter video embedded below, Jones talked about that upon leaving the White House after Trump’s speech, a “violent mob” of what he described as Biden/Harris supporters accosted him and his wife.
“These were Democrats, Black Lives Matter, Antifa folks…let me be clear. My life was threatened. And other lives were threatened. When I hear that foolishness from the liberal media that it was ‘mostly peaceful,’ where in the hell were they when my life was threatened…thank God for those police officers. If it had not been for them, I don’t know if I would be talking to you now or any other time.”

There are allegations that left-wing billionaire George Soros and/or organizations funded by or affiliated with him are financing these “rent-a-mobs.”
