A Kenosha, Wisc., police officer reportedly was hit with a brick and knocked out cold during the civil unrest Sunday night that followed an officer-involved shooting of a black suspect.
A 40-second video posted to Twitter by @BotchlaUS depicts the cop abruptly falling to the ground face first and then being assisted by other officers.
The viral clip is labeled “Footage of officer getting knocked out with a brick in Kenosha.”
Apparently the officer was checking out a possible broken window in a patrol car when he was struck by a brick or some other object.
As yet, there is no update as to the health status of the officer.
Although the scene embedded below is chaotic with a lot of yelling that is difficult to pick up, supposedly one or more of the onlookers yelled “he got bricked,” as well as “f*** the police, according to Fox News.

Embedded below is a longer version of the incident, showing a cruiser surrounded by protesters; someone can be hard saying “the police are trying to leave Kenosha, but they won’t let them.” Kenosha is located about 40 miles south of Milwaukee.

According to the Journal Times of Racine, Wisc., “Shouts of ‘Officer down!’ were heard on the police scanner.”
The news outlet added about the riots generally, “Rocks and bricks have been thrown, and at least one Molotov cocktail being thrown has been reported, as is property damage. One police vehicle was reportedly ‘stomped’ and then later towed away.”
Arson and looting also occurred in the overnight hours as captured on video uploaded to social media.
Wisconsin’s governor, Democrat Tony Evers, has condemned the shooting of Jacob Blake, and the state’s Department of Justice, along with other law enforcement agencies, has already launched a criminal investigation into what reportedly started out as a domestic incident. Officers allegedly shot Blake, 29, who was unarmed, seven times in the back. Blake is hospitalized in serious condition.
Kenosha officers have not been fitted with body cameras for budgetary reasons, which could be a major problem in trying to get to the bottom of what happened in the encounter, and does not reflect well on city officials.
Investigative reporter Drew Hernandez described what he witnessed in Kenosha in the tweet below.
“They went toe to toe with the police in front of the courthouse,” Hernandez noted, among other things, about the rioting, looting, and vandalism that occurred. “This was pretty extreme because of the shooting that took place today,” he added.
