Kellyanne Conway’s bitter public family feud has entered a temporary truce, as she announced her resignation from the Trump White House.

At the same time, her husband George Conway quit the anti-Trump Lincoln Project. And their troubled 15-year-old daughter Claudia announced she’s taking a break from social media.

Kellyanne made the surprise announcement at 10:27 p.m. Eastern time, just hours after the Trump campaign released their list of speakers for this week’s Republican National Convention. Conway is scheduled to speak on August 26.

In her resignation letter, Kellyanne said she’s leaving as Counselor to the President at the end of August to focus on her family, which has been rocked by embarrassing public bickering.

Conway wrote: “This is completely my choice and my voice. In time, I will announce future plans. For now, and for my beloved children, it will be less drama, more mama.”

Kellyanne explained that because of the coronavirus shutdowns, her four children will be remote-learning this fall, and that requires more hands-on parental involvement.

Conway underscored that while she and her Trump-hating husband George disagree on many issues, they prioritize their children.

“We disagree about plenty, but we are united on what matters most: the kids,” Kellyanne said. “Our four children are teens and ‘tweens starting a new academic year, in middle school and high school, remotely from home for at least a few months. As millions of parents nationwide know, kids “doing school from home” requires a level of attention and vigilance that is as unusual as these times.”

Eleven minutes before Kellyanne announced her resignation, her husband George tweeted: “I’m withdrawing from the Lincoln Project to devote more time to family matters. And I’ll be taking a Twitter hiatus.”

The Lincoln Project is a tiny political action committee formed in 2019 by Trump-hating Republicans who vow to defeat Trump in November.

George’s Twitter break is noteworthy since he devotes all his time to trashing President Trump on the platform.

Similarly, Claudia Conway — a Trump-hater who claimed she’s seeking emancipation from her parents — announced she’s taking “a mental health break from social media.”

Claudia, 15, added: “No hate to my parents please.”

It’s possible that Kellyanne resigned now in order to not distract from Trump’s reelection bid.

It’s always possible that she could rejoin the Trump White House after the election, once things settle down with her family. Either way, she has cemented her trailblazer status.

Kellyanne Conway is the first woman in U.S. history to manage a successful presidential campaign. And it was Donald Trump — whom Democrats call “a sexist” — who helped Conway break that glass ceiling by elevating her to that position.

“I was in Republican politics for decades. He elevated me at almost 50 years old to be his campaign manager,” Kellyanne said. “I was hiding in plain sight for other campaigns. [Donald Trump] put me in charge.”

President Trump and his sons Eric and Don Jr. have blasted George Conway for constantly undermining his wife like a jealous, pathetic, insecure loser.

In her last public interview on August 21, Kellyanne praised President Trump and predicted his reelection, saying Democrats have a losing strategy by spewing nonstop negative, dystopian propaganda to terrify Americans into voting Trump out.

“The President has [done more] in 47 months than Joe Biden has done in 47 years,” Kellyanne said. “People want to hear optimism. They heard a lot of negativity [from Democrats]. Joe Biden’s speech at the convention was too angry and gloomy. [Trump] believes in the hopefulness and greatness of America.”
