As the liberal media salivates over the coming announcement of a running mate from the candidate they’re working hard to prop up, an effort is already underway to label any criticism of the pick as sexist or racist.
After all, presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has already vowed that his choice will be a woman, and given the deference afforded to the Black Lives Matter movement, the choice will almost certainly be a woman of color.
All of which brings to mind the reception former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin received from the same media sycophants.
Daily Beast columnist Matt Lewis penned a piece published on Tuesday commenting on the Biden campaign’s coming efforts to beat back critics, while reminding us of the despicable treatment Palin received from the media in 2008.
Dems are ready to fight sexist attacks against Biden's VP pick. But @mattklewis says that's hypocritical. "Their sexist attacks helped batter a young female rising star deemed as an existential threat."

“Joe Biden’s campaign, in conjunction with influential women’s groups, is preparing to blunt “sexist” attacks aimed at his prospective running mate,” Lewis wrote. “That’s all well and good, but where does Sarah Palin go to recover her career?”
“Their sexist attacks helped batter a young female rising star deemed as an existential threat,” he added.
You can just imagine how this all went over on the left — Caution: Language Warning:
Oh fuck off, Matt

The fact that Palin was pro-life may have been her greatest sin in the left’s eye, but her being a woman meant nothing as the media engaged in a full-on campaign to sully her reputation and paint her as a backwoods rube.
Lewis also noted that “some of the harshest Palin criticism came from other women.”
Case in point:
Guys I hate to tell you but feminism does not mean idiots get to be VP as long as they’re women.

There’s growing speculation that former Obama national security adviser Susan Rice may be the person Biden will soon announce he has picked.
Her name is conspicuously absent from the speaker’s list for the virtual Democratic National Convention — in fairness, so too is Rep. Val Demings, D-Fla., another black woman said to be on Biden’s short list.
Here the full speaker’s list for the virtual Democratic National Convention.
It will take place over four nights from August 17-20, 2020. Convention programming will air from 9:00-11:00 PM Eastern. pic.twitter.com/gfmI7ECW8m

In addition to such notables as the Obamas and the Clintons, the list features Sens. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris.
News 13 reporter Greg Angel reported that there is a reserved spot for “VP Nominee” on Wednesday.
Val Demings and Susan Rice are both NOT listed as speakers. Both are likely VP picks, as is Warren and Harris who ARE listed. Speaking sep nights. There is a reserved spot for “VP Nominee” on Wednesday.
The speculation is going to run wild.

As for criticism of Biden’s pick, Media Research Center noted Monday that “liberal activist groups, Democratic politicians, and their media allies” are already laying the groundwork to label any negative analysis of the vice presidential nominee as racist and sexist.
No surprise, NBC’s Andrea Mitchell is at the fore front of this effort:
Joe Biden hasn't announced his VP pick yet, but already media pundits like @mitchellreports and others are already gearing up to call any potential criticisms of the still-unknown VP pick as racist and sexist. https://t.co/E1SgPluz4f

The reaction to the Palin reminder is instructive on how the process works — if the left deems someone to be ignorant, any and all criticism is justified. Even is it is sexist.
At the same time, make the exact argument against their female candidate of choice and they lose their collective minds. It’s equivalent to calling political enemies Nazis, because who can oppose punching a Nazi in the face?
Palin’s name was trending Tuesday, which served as a refresher on how vile the left is when not lecturing us on being a better person.
It should not be lost that 2008 Republican nominee John McCain saddled Palin with now-MSNBC anchor Nicole Wallace as a handler — given what we know today, how easy is it to imagine her throwing Palin to the media wolves Wallace would soon join.
One thing is sure, the women’s group gearing up to defend Biden’s vice presidential pick are hypocrites through and through.
Remember all of those women's groups who mobilized to combat the sexist attacks on Sarah Palin?
Yeah, me neither. https://t.co/M2onpq7M2w
