President Donald Trump suggested the National Rifle Association should relocate to Texas after the New York attorney general went after the gun-rights group.

Trump slammed the announcement by New York Attorney General Letitia James to “dissolve the NRA” as a “terrible thing” and urged the gun rights advocacy group, which is headquartered in Fairfax, Va., to get to a more “appropriate” place where it will not be harassed by liberal politicians.

“I just heard about that. That’s a very terrible thing that just happened,” Trump told reporters outside of the White House on Thursday, referring to the New York lawsuit alleging that the NRA violated state law.

“I think the NRA should move to Texas and lead a very good and beautiful life. And I’ve told them that for a long time,” the president added.

“I think they should move to Texas. Texas would be a great place. Or to another state of their choosing. But I would say that Texas would be a great place and an appropriate place for the NRA,” Trump reiterated.

The nation’s largest gun-rights group, which is chartered as a nonprofit in the state of New York, could have its future jeopardized by the civil lawsuit which could take years to play out in court.

“This has been going on for a long time. They’ve been absolutely decimated by the cost of that lawsuit,” Trump, who has been a vocal supporter of the group and of the Second Amendment, remarked.

James’ decision to target the organization, alleging that its “top executives funneled millions into their own pockets,” drew instant criticism and sparked a countersuit by the NRA which slammed the “New York Democratic Party political machine.”

The Democratic attorney general was blasted for the “baseless, premeditated attack” on the NRA which was a “transparent attempt to score political points” and a “power grab by a political opportunist.”

Trump brought up Americans’ gun rights again during an Ohio speech when he attacked presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

The president remarks, touting his economic agenda and reiterating his campaign promises, came after he visited a Whirlpool manufacturing plant in Clyde.

“He’s done nothing, now he’s going to fix everything. Doesn’t work that way. And I wouldn’t say he’s at the top of his game, would you? Do you think?” the president said, speaking of Biden.

“But he supported every single globalist attack on American workers. Joe Biden’s policies put China first and America last, and that’s what he will continue to do if he ever got this shot. And you will have a disruption in the markets the likes of which our country has never seen. You will have a crash in the markets because he’s going to double and triple your taxes,” Trump warned.

“He’s going to do things that nobody ever, would ever think even possible, because he’s following the radical left agenda. Take away your guns, destroy your Second Amendment, no religion, no anything, hurt the Bible, hurt God. He’s against God, he’s against guns, he’s against energy, our kind of energy,” he added.

Trump doubled down on his warning in a tweet calling out the attack on the NRA.
