Fox News’ “The Five” shared their take Tuesday on the clown show earlier in the day when Attorney General Bill Barr appeared before the Democrat-led House Judiciary Committee.
Not surprisingly, co-host Greg Gutfeld had the harshest assessment of the shameful behavior on display by Democratic lawmakers, calling it “the worst thing I have ever seen on TV and that includes Morning Joe.”
Not only were lawmakers on the left rude and disrespectful to Barr, they practically refused to let him answer questions then blasted him for not answering questions.
Gutfeld played off a familiar refrain heard repeatedly at the hearing: reclaiming my time.
“After that fiasco, we have to reclaim our time for America,” he said. “Have you ever heard of a more infantile loser defense? In the hearing that you could ask a question then cut the answer off with ‘I’m reclaiming my time.’ It creates a one-way street, in which you could actually accuse somebody of murder, you could accuse them of treason and then you deny them the opportunity to defend themselves.”

“Meanwhile this is the party of compassion? I saw nothing but fascists,” Gutfeld went on. “These guys — no wonder they think the mob in Portland and Seattle is not a bad thing. The mob is just their street team.”
He referenced Barr as being like “a calm gorilla swatting these stupid flies off his nose calmly” in responding to the Democrats, before comparing the spectacle to the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation hearings.
“I have never seen anything more disgusting on TV,” Gutfeld proclaimed. “I thought the Kavanaugh hearing was an injustice. This is pretty close.”
Co-host Dana Perino noted that Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., the chairman of the panel, would not even grant Barr a requested 5-minute break without resistance, remarking how calm the attorney general remained.
(Barr called Nadler a “class act.”)
Today's hearing in a nutshell:
AG Bill Barr: "I'm sorry, Mr. Chairman, could I — could we take a five-minute break?"
Rep. Jerry Nadler: "No." @Jim_Jordan: "That's a common courtesy."

Co-host Katie Pavlich weighed in to call the hearing “a disgrace,” before commenting on the reaction to the violent rioting in Portland.
“The Democrats made a clear choice today,” she said. “They not only didn’t condemn the violence but they defended it. There was no condemnation of anything going on.”
“And their behavior of cutting him off and not allowing him to answer questions about serious issues shows this is just an extension of the impeachment trial in terms of their behavior and they can’t move forward,” Pavlich added. “While they accuse Bill Barr of being political, they were all very political today in trying to put the administration on trial again.”
In concluding that it “was difficult to watch,” she noted what was obvious to anyone watching, that being that Bill Barr was much smarter than his antagonizers.
Co-host Jesse Watters responded to a clip of presumptive 2020 Democratic nominee Joe Biden commenting on those perpetrating the violence.
Saying Biden’s response was “too little too late,” Watters added, “All you need to say if you’re a Democrat is can we not light fires to federal buildings? It’s not that hard to do, but for some reason the Democrats can’t bring themselves to do that.”
As for the days’ hearing, he nailed it when he called it a “cancellation.”
“This was not a hearing. This was a cancellation. They just wanted to cancel Bill Barr,” Watters opined. “They were not interested in hearing or listening to anything he had to say because they know he’s armed with facts.”
“He’s calm, cool and collected, and they’re just angry,” he continued. “They’re furious. They look un-serious, they look unprofessional. They’re just screaming a him. It’s just kind of bad energy tied up from him turning the tables with the Russia hoax and him defending Donald Trump — because Donald Trump, love him or hate him, he’s still acting within the boundaries of executive power.”
Watters referenced former President Barack Obama’s “wingman,” Eric Holder, to say that unlike Holder, Barr is “upholding the rule of law.”
“And really, that’s the problem with the Democrats,” he said. “They do not want the rule of law upheld. If it was up to them and you can see by their actions they’d be OK with Antifa burning down courthouses. They’re OK with violent protesters attacking police.”
