Cuomo and Lemon mock those who don’t want to wear masks: ‘You don’t see one on Jesus!’

Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo, two CNN hosts who identify as journalists much in the same way as some men identify as “transgender women,” spent a brief moment Wednesday night mocking those Americans who refuse to don a mask.

The mockery occurred after Cuomo, whose own show runs during the 8:00 pm slot, reportedly ripped into Ohio state Rep. Nino Vitale for vowing to not wear a mask because of his religious beliefs and telling his constituents to “stop getting tested.”

During the brief transfer between shows that occurs at the end of the 8:00 pm slot, both Cuomo and Lemon laughed it over up over this sort of rhetoric.

Watch:

“What are these people — I come on. Really?” Lemon asked as the two’s discussion began.

“That guy’s Irish. Nino Vitale. Couldn’t be more Italian than that,” Cuomo replied.

He was trying to make a joke. Vitale is clearly Italian like him, though because he feels embarrassed by the state representative’s behavior, he wishes Vitale were Irish instead.

“I’m not getting in on that thing,” Lemon replied. “How, I wonder if the people work for the pretzel companies. They should open like a pretzel business …”

“Cause they got it twisted!” Cuomo interjected.

“They got it twisted! Well, uh, it’s religion,” Lemon concurred.

Can’t wear a mask. You don’t see one on Jesus!” Cuomo quipped, causing both men to ball over in laughter.

“Chris, what is happening? Have you seen the videos of these people in the stores who are like, ‘Get away from me! You’re threatening me!’ I don’t have to wear a mask!’” Lemon eventually said after the duo stopped laughing.

“I want to play all of them, not even say anything and just let people see themselves. Just wear a mask. You gotta wear a shirt. You gotta wear shoes. You can’t go without pants. Come on. What’s wrong with people?”

“I’ll tell you what,” Cuomo responded, “if we have a lot more of this go on, I’m going wear a MAGA hat, because it will be true, we will have to build up our greatness again. This is the most pathetic display.”

Was it, though?

Vitale’s outbursts began in early May, when he published a Facebook post pushing back against mask recommendations on the basis of his religion.

Watch Dir. Acton, Gov. DeWine and Rep. Vitale in this 90-second video “On Wearing Masks.”

“Don’t use masks they won’t stop the spread – Dr. Acton” (early April), “Mandate Masks – Dr. Acton” (late April), “No mandate for masks – Gov. DeWine” (late April), “All – Don your cape and mask” – Dr. Acton-Early May), “Mandate for only employees – Dr. Acton” (early May), “masks were a bridge too far” – Gov DeWine (yesterday).

(Wearing a Mask)…”was just a bridge too far that people were not going to accept the government telling them what to do.” – Yesterday on Sunday Television – Gov DeWine

Dr. Acton spent weeks telling us that masks make no difference in stopping the spread and were not needed for the general public. Then she spent all of last week telling us to “don our cape and mask”, and that in other counties, this is the norm and we should make it the new normal in Ohio and even the entire nation forever.

DeWine was on national television on Sunday stating, “masks were just a bridge too far.” Just in the past 6 days, they have changed their mind about masks 4 times.

What is my response? “This is not the entire world. This is the greatest nation on earth founded on Judeo-Christian Principles. One of those principles is that we are all created in the image and likeness of God. That image is seen the most by our face. I will not wear a mask.” – Rep. Vitale

It is time to do what Preble County did, ignore the unelected Dr. Acton’s orders, open your counties now, before it’s too late. This is not based on logic, this is based on fear and propaganda and every statistical, data driven study done in the last 2 weeks says death counts are low, the models were wrong, and this is more like the flu.

Additionally, these orders were NOT voted on by 2/3rds of a vote of the legislature, as need to be done in cases of emergencies in Ohio. These are INVALID orders. The highest law of Ohio, the Ohio Constitution states … “emergency laws necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health or safety, shall go into immediate effect. Such emergency laws upon a yea and nay vote must receive the vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each branch of the general assembly…” Article 2 Section 01d – Emergency Laws

“This is not the entire world. This is the greatest nation on earth founded on Judeo-Christian Principles. One of those principles is that we are all created in the image and likeness of God. That image is seen the most by our face. I will not wear a mask,” part of what he wrote in the lengthy post above reads.

That remark drew widespread attention and criticism.

Now fast-forward to this past Tuesday, when Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, a Republican, issued a decree ordering residents in the seven counties hardest hit by the coronavirus to wear a mask in public. This provoked Vitale into publishing another controversial post.

Are you tired of living in a dictatorship yet?

This is what happens when people go crazy and get tested. STOP GETTING…

It was these two combined posts — plus a flurry of recent incidents involving mask non-wearers lashing out at mask “Karens” — that formed the basis for Cuomo and Lemon’s laugh party Wednesday.

Who’s the genuinely “pathetic” one, though — those who are pushing back on mask decrees, or the “Karens” who’re hassling non-mask wearers?

There’s no real consensus on this. On one hand, the so-called “experts” currently say wearing a mask will drastically reduce the spread of the coronavirus. But on the other hand, the coronavirus keeps spreading despite mask mandates across the country, and the so-called “experts” have previously argued against the use of masks.

Take “experts” Jennifer Nuzzo and Tom Inglesby. According to Alex Berenson, formerly of The New York Times, their current mask recommendations belie their past research:

So which is it? Again, there’s no consensus.

The only consistency can be found in Cuomo and Lemon’s nonfluctuating mockery of anyone with whom they disagree, be it the “dumb, illiterate rubes” who allegedly comprise the president’s base, or those Americans who’re willing to be honest about the Black Lives Matter-linked violence currently sweeping the nation.
