Florida sheriff warns would-be rioters, vows to deputize ‘every lawful gun owner’ to hold the line

The media will have an extremely difficult time smearing this Florida sheriff as a racist.

On Tuesday, Clay County Sheriff Darryl Daniels, the county’s first-ever black sheriff, released a three-minute video warning the left’s beloved “peaceful protesters” that hell on Earth awaits them if they dare to try and stir up trouble in his community.

“Yes, we’ll protect your constitutional rights as long as you remain under the umbrellas of peaceful protest or peaceful march,” he said. “But the second you step out from up under the protection of the Constitution, we’ll be waiting on you and we’ll give you everything you want.”

And if, hypothetically speaking, the rioters and looters do somehow manage to overwhelm his department — which seems exceedingly unlikely — he’ll just deputize every law-abiding gun owner in the county and set them loose like piranhas.

If we can’t handle you, I’ll exercise the power and authority as the sheriff, and I’ll make special deputies of every lawful gun owner in this county and I’ll deputize them for this one purpose to stand in the gap between lawlessness and civility,” Daniels said.

Listen to his powerful announcement below:

Besides warning would-be hooligans from stepping foot in Clay County, Sheriff Daniels also took aim at both the mainstream media and the Black Lives Matter extremist movement for their false narratives about America’s law enforcement officers.

“Me and the men and women of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office just want to weigh in on what we’re seeing play out across the mainstream media in this country. Look folks, don’t fall victim to subjecting yourselves to this conversation that law enforcement is bad, that law enforcement is the enemy of the citizens that we’re sworn to protect and serve,” he said.

“We swore an oath, and in that oath we swore to support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and the government, and that we’re duly qualified under the state’s constitution to hold office. That is for me as a sheriff and for these men and women as deputy sheriffs. And we end that with, ‘So help me God.'”

Of course, this side of the story is never told by the media.

“But God is absent from the media’s message or Black Lives Matter or any other group that’s making themselves a spectacle disrupting what we know to be our quality of life in this country. In Clay County, we have a great quality of life. We have a great relationship with our community. But across this nation, not so much. I wanted to take a stand with these men and women who feel the same way as I do,” Daniels explained.

His remarks come as an increasing number of cities and counties across the state have been swamped by left-wing extremists …

Breaking into private neighborhoods and threatening homeowners:

Looting stores:

Attacking the police:

Setting buildings on fire:

Harassing motorists:

Opening fire on motorists:

Yet despite Daniels’ tough brand of policing being desperately needed to prevent these mobs of left-wing extremists from descending into Clay County, he’s faced an avalanche of criticism from the five challengers, all of them ostensibly Republicans, who’re challenging him in the upcoming November race.

In statements to local station WJXT, all five “Republicans” — Harold Rutledge, Mike Taylor, Michelle Cook, Catherine Webb and Ben Carroll — bashed Daniels for allegedly “jeopardizing the safety” of local residents, as Carroll put it.

They also drew attention to the fact that Daniels is admittedly under investigation at the moment because of an affair he’d allegedly had with a fellow officer.

“I am not sure what he is thinking, but it is not the kind of thinking we need from our top cop. He is already under an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for abusing his power, and here he goes again,” Rutledge said.

As of Thursday morning, Daniels video on YouTube boasted over 1,300 likes and fewer than 400 dislikes. Meanwhile, a copy of the video shared to the Facebook page of the Clay County Sheriff’s Office boasted over 4,000 likes and nearly 5,000 shares.

It also boasted thousands of positive comments such as this one: “WOW, that’s why I love this county. We have a strong sheriff and deputies who keep us safe no matter what. Thank you to all of you and may your lives be blessed along with your families lives. And yes I will gladly stand with you and fight for this county and all those who reside in it. I will be there for you guys as you are for me and mine. Thanks for all you do.”
