NASCAR released the first official photo of the garage-door pull rope that Bubba Wallace claimed was a “noose” after being widely mocked for perpetrating what many say was a failed PR stunt known as the “noose hoax.”
In the NASCAR photo, an ominous-looking rope hangs in the foreground of a garage.
Observes say the picture was strategically taken to maximize the rope’s size while neglecting to give any spatial perspective to show how small it actually is.

Numerous photos and videos that surfaced in the aftermath of the “noose hoax” show that the rope was there since October 2019 — eight months before the garage it hung at was assigned to Bubba Wallace.
When you see the photo of the garage-door pull rope next to a full-sized man, you see how small and benign it is.

Perspective is very important when taking photos, as these comical pictures of people standing in front of the leaning Tower of Pisa illustrate.

After Bubba Wallace — who’s half-black and half-white — claimed he was the target of racist hate crime, 15 FBI agents were immediately dispatched to Talladega race track in Alabama.
NASCAR President Steve Phelps and the left-wing media breathlessly hyped the garage-door rope as a “noose” for days without providing a single photo of it.
After an exhaustive investigation, the FBI concluded that the “noose” was not a noose, but a rope with a loop used by work crews to pull down a garage door.
Moreover, the rope had been there since at least October 2019 — eight months before the garage it hung from was assigned to Wallace.
“After a thorough review of the facts and evidence, we have concluded that no federal crime was committed,” the Justice Department in Alabama underscored.
When NASCAR released its photo yesterday, race-baiting leftists and their media lapdogs gleefully insisted that the garage-door rope was a noose.
This contradicts Bubba Wallace’s own admission that he was “embarrassed” for hyperventilating over a rope.

In a contrite June 24 statement, Bubba essentially admitted that the rope was not a noose.
Wallace remarked: “I want to say how relieved I am that the investigation revealed that this wasn’t what we feared it was. We’ll gladly take a little embarrassment over what the alternatives could have been.”
Bubba also thanked NASCAR and the FBI for “treating this as a real threat.” This implies that Wallace knows the rope was not a threat.

Initially, Bubba claimed he never saw the rope, and that it was one of his team members who saw it and reported the garage-door rope to NASCAR.
After media coverage exploded, Wallace lied and insisted that he did see the “noose” before NASCAR publicized the incident.
In an effort to recover his credibility, Wallace has played up his victim status — even while admitting that he was not the target of a hate crime.
“It doesn’t matter when the knot was tied — when the ‘noose’ was tied — [it’s wrong] that somebody still did it as a joke,” Wallace said. “It was a relief that I wasn’t a target of that.”
"Knowing that they did all that intensive research…to back up the point that there was a noose in my garage just shows the character of @NASCAR." @bubbawallace reacts to probe that revealed his garage stall was the only one out of 1,684 with a rope pull fashioned like a noose pic.twitter.com/1yc3pUd5jm

Countless Twitter users pointed out that the angle the “noose photo” was taken at made the garage-door rope look more ominous.
“Here is some perspective: This is a screenshot of NASCAR footage from 2017. All the doors had the same thing.”

“What’s with the sinister close-up that hides the garage door and makes the pull look bigger and worse than it was? Looks like a (failed) PR stunt.”
NASCAR and Bubba described it as a “noose hanging over the car,” clearly not the case. What’s with the sinister closeup that hides the garage door and makes the pull look bigger and worse than it was? Who was being threatened in October 2019? Looks like a (failed) PR stunt 🙄 pic.twitter.com/s8KhCaJN4H

“Notice how they…did a close-up shot to make it look much bigger. NASCAR deserves to go out of business for this BS.”
So @NASCAR released the pic of the garage pull down rope or “the noose”
Notice how they cut the picture off so you couldn’t see the part where it attached to the garage door, and did a close-up shot to make it look much bigger.

Many others remarked this “noose hoax” was a publicity stunt from the beginning — to raise Bubba Wallace’s profile, as well as that of NASCAR.
“NASCAR knew what it was but decided to take advantage of the political climate and make a whole public spectacle out of it.”
Fifteen FBI agents determined that that rope had been there since October 2019. That means other teams had used that garage before. NASCAR knew what it was but decided to take advantage of the political climate and make a whole public spectacle out of it.
