Tucker Carlson believes America has reached a “dangerous moment” as it becomes clear that the Black Lives Matter movement has become “the single most powerful party” in the nation.

The Fox News host addressed the popularity and growing power of the Black Lives Matter movement in a lengthy opening monologue on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Monday, continuing to sound the alarm that has already earned him backlash and boycotts from the left.

Carlson pointed to the “astounding” poll numbers showing the popularity of the movement which has surpassed that of politicians, their political parties and businesses as well as the pope himself.

“The media, in their relentlessly fawning coverage, usually describe Black Lives Matter as an activist group or protest movement,” the Fox News host said. “But that’s deception by understatement. Black Lives Matter is not a collection of marchers with signs. It’s not a conventional political lobby like Planned Parenthood or the NRA.”

Carlson contended that the group is “working to remake the country and then to control it. It’s a political party.”

“As of tonight, Black Lives Matter may be the single most powerful party in the United States,” Carlson continued. “Nobody says that out loud but politicians understand it perfectly well. If nothing else, they understand power — they can smell it at great distances. That is why they are lining up to bow before Black Lives Matter.”

After playing multiple clips to back his point, Carlson conceded that the support is not a “stretch” whose “long-term goals align” with those of BLM which sometimes even acts “as an arm of the Democratic Party.” But Carlson noted that the more “ominous” thing has been the Republican response, pointing out Sen. Mitt Romney’s decision recently to join a protest march.

“Republican leaders brag about their strong conservative convictions, but mostly they just want to be on the winning team, whatever that is,” Carlson said. “That is why they pause before offending China. It’s why when Black Lives Matter tells them to take a knee, they do.

“It’s all pretty strange when you think about it. If the leaders of Black Lives Matter are political actors, and they are, then by definition you are allowed to have any opinion you want to have about them,” he added.

“Imagine a world where you are punished for questioning the behavior of the president or for insulting your local mayor. You probably can’t imagine that because it’s too bizarre. It is un-American but that is where we are right now. Black Lives Matter has changed the rules and here is the first new rule: No criticizing Black Lives Matter,” Carlson said.

“You can be fired from your job if you disobey. Many Americans have been,” he added, showing examples of such occurrences.

“Black Lives Matter now enjoys almost complete immunity from criticism,” Carlson said.

“This is unprecedented for an American political movement but Black Lives Matter is more powerful than that. It has singlehandedly revised our moral framework,” he added. “Affirming the fundamental equality of all people is now considered hate speech.”

“This is a dangerous moment. How did we get here? In a word quickly, it happened fast,” Carlson said, noting how a few months ago, the view of BLM was quite different and the internet still provides much of the group’s track record such as its “signature demand to eliminate law enforcement,” a move that saw its fruition in the decision by Minneapolis to dismantle its police department.

Many officers in the department have given up and resigned as morale tanked and across cities in the nation, demonstrators supporting BLM have attacked police even as the liberal media continues to call them “peaceful protesters.”

“Are you surprised? Almost no one in public life has pushed back meaningfully against the idea of defunding the police,” Carlson said.

Interestingly, an attorney representing the family of George Floyd clarified recently that any call to defund police departments “has not come from Philonise Floyd’s family or anybody working with us.”

Carlson went on to point out other positions that BLM holds, including repealing immigration restrictions, legalizing prostitution, reallocating farmland and race-based reparations. A retired political science professor and member of the Black Voices for Trump advisory board recently noted that BLM is “part of the cultural Marxist agenda against America.”

“But there is a solution to this vortex and it’s called leadership,” Carlson said in his monologue, noting past intervention by the federal government to restore order in the country.

“Our leaders are happy to talk about everything but the collapse of civilization tumbling down around them. They have no idea how how little credibility they have or relevant they have become. If you can’t tell the truth when the truth actually matters, then nothing you say matters,” he said.

“Meanwhile, Black Lives Matter becomes more powerful and more popular with the public,” he added, pointing to their attractive appearance of strength.

“They flood the streets with angry, young people who break things and they hurt anyone who gets in the way. When they want something, they take it. Make them mad and they will set your business on fire. Annoy them and they will occupy your downtown and declare a brand-new country. You will not do anything about it. They know that for certain. This is the most obstructive kind of politics,” Carlson said, contending that the message of power is “more effective than voting.”

“It works, violence works,” he concluded. “That is the message.”
