Stanford dean Mona Hicks terrified students by lionizing convicted cop killer and domestic terrorist Assata Shakur in a bizarre mass email to students where she lamented her struggles as a black woman.

Assata Shakur (born Joanne Chesimard) was convicted and sentenced to jail in 1973 for brutally murdering New Jersey state trooper Werner Foerster. In 1979, Shakur broke out of jail and fled to communist Cuba, where she remains to this day.

Shakur was on the FBI’s Most Wanted Terrorist List before fleeing the United States.

Shakur is a former member of the militant Black Panthers. In 2017, disgraced NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick was slammed amid revelations that he had donated money to Assata’s Daughters, a group celebrating the convicted cop killer.

The mission of Assata’s Daughters is to continue the work of the anti-police Black Lives Matter.

Mona Hicks is the senior associate vice provost and dean of students at Stanford University — one of the most prestigious, most expensive universities in the world. She’s hardly a struggling, marginalized person of color.

In a June 1 email to all Stanford students, Hicks wrote: “As a Black woman, I am also struggling to make meaning in our world today…This loving refrain from Assata Shakur still rings true as I shelter-in-place: ‘It is our duty to fight for our freedom. It is our duty to win.”

The email became public after Stanford’s College Republicans club posted it on its Facebook page. Some students viewed the note as a dog whistle glorifying violence against police.

Stephen Sills is the president of the Stanford College Republicans. Sills told Fox News the group is “ashamed” and “disgusted” that Mona Hicks quoted a convicted cop killer during a time of racial division.

The Stanford College Republicans released a statement  saying they’re worried that Hicks’ comments implicitly endorses violence:

“At a time when our nation is reeling from violence in our streets, we must reflect on what has got us to this point.

By endorsing those who employ violent tactics for political purposes, ivory-tower leftists like Mona Hicks are responsible for the culture of violence that thousands of Americans are now paying the price for in the streets.

If people like Mona Hicks think they can get away with praising terrorists, the acceptance of violence as a legitimate form of political activity will continue.”

Hicks did not respond to BizPac Review’s request for comment. Stanford University also did not return BizPac Review’s multiple calls requesting comment.

Observers say that if Mona Hicks were white, she’d already be fired. But she’s a “struggling” black woman, so she’ll likely face no consequences for scaring undergraduate students.

Just ask UCLA professor Gordon Klein, who was suspended and barraged with death threats for refusing to exempt black students from final exams because of George Floyd’s death.
