Greg Gutfeld stunned that ‘The Purge’ went off without a hitch: ‘Did more to end gun control than the NRA could ever do’

In a stirring monologue, Greg Gutfeld blasted liberal elites for enabling “mayhem disguised as justice and the media gets the assist with the disguise” as reflected in riots and anarchy occurring in the aftermath of the George Floyd death in Minneapolis police custody, mob rule that he says destroyed his own New York City neighborhood.

The purge “went off without a hitch,” in a reference to the dystopian horror movie franchise in which evil-doers get one night a year to run wild, the host of “The Greg Gutfeld Show” declared

“The purge occurred and — sorry, Hollywood scriptwriters — it didn’t come from some autocratic right-winger. No, Stephen King, Cher and anyone else snorting horse tranquilizers behind a gated community who thought Trump was Hitler: It was actually your side.”

As an aside, the civil disturbances fomented by radical leftists “did more to end gun control than the NRA could ever do,” he quipped.

Calling out, among others, the Cuomo brothers, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom and very fake news CNN, Gutfeld explained that “the purge happened when left-wing Dems endorsed the envy of those who would ruin us.”

“The purge was sponsored by left-wing enablers…they run the mob. Before, if a young person wanted success, you focus on hard work: now you focus on grievance.”

Greg praised Twitter users for filming the anarchy that was actually taking place across the country, violence committed by street thugs and Antifa extremists that the media refuse to cover because it didn’t fit a narrative.

“All this is brought to you by liberal government and the media that cradles it.”

Gutfeld specifically called out CNN’s limousine liberal Chris Cuomo for ignorantly wondering why protests are supposed to be peaceful. Responded Gutfeld, “Say that to the black man who watched his business burn down or the immigrant facing his boarded-up deli. Cuomo’s social-justice karaoke won’t feed their kids.”

The Fox News host is not a fan of Chris’s older brother, the sitting governor. “So as New York implodes, its governor thinks the biggest problem is people seeing the implosion, the death, the mayhem, the desecration of Mr. Floyd’s memory — like this video of David Dorn, a retired 77-year-old police chief who bled to death after being shot by looters. I’m sorry, I meant unpeaceful protesters.”

Gutfield explained that the political and media establishment abandoned ordinary, law-abiding citizens of all backgrounds after “decades of grievance politics, decades of cities run by corrupt Democrat machines., decades of media fanning racial divisions, decades of romanticizing radicalism and smearing the American system.”

Civil unrest will continue to happen “until we say stop, and by we, I mean Americans, not black or white or Asian Americans. All Americans, because this isn’t a race problem, it’s our problem. And when we make it our problem, we can solve it.”

Rejecting the systemic racism mantra, Gutfeld pointed out that the U.S. is the most racially diverse and most economically successful in world history for everyone and where longstanding laws made racial discrimination illegal. He also noted that the country collectively mourned the death of George Floyd.

The end to divisiveness has to scare the power-hungry left-wing because they would be put out of business, he concluded.

Gutfeld also alluded to Trump administration accomplishments such as criminal justice and prison reform, opportunity zones, permanent funding for historically black colleges, record (pre-COVID) unemployment among blacks, Hispanics, and the workforce generally, among other key initiatives.

You may recall that Greg Gutfeld started out as very critical of Trump but he — unlike many of the Never Trumpers — realized that you must evaluate the president on his actions rather than his personality.
