Kayleigh McEnany delivers Twitter a scathing beatdown, cites long list of hypocrisy and blatant bias

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany torched Twitter for hypocrisy and how the platform is blatantly biased against conservatives.

McEnany called out the social media company during remarks at a press briefing Thursday, citing examples of how Twitter does not apply its so-called standards in a balanced way.

“I wanted to address what has been going on on Twitter and with social media. I believe it is time to ‘get the facts’ about Twitter and other social media platforms, targeting their bias against President Trump and conservatives online, McEnany began.

“If we were to judge the bias of Twitter and its top employees by their own words, the case would be an easy one to make,” she continued.

She noted the example of Yoel Roth, Twitter’s head of site integrity, and his comments about “actual Nazis in the White House,” referring to a January 2017 tweet.

“No fact-check label was ever applied to this absolutely outrageous, offensive and false claim made against the White Hosue and its employees,” McEnany pointed out, in an obvious reference to the fact-checking warnings that Twitter used on the president’s tweets about mail-in voting.

“But let’s judge Twitter based on their actions and not based on the words of their top employees, and its actions are no better,” McEnany continued, pointing to the fact-checking move as one example.

She also brought up how White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino was given Twitter’s first-ever “manipulated media” label for posting a verbatim video clip, calling the moves by Twitter “bias in action.”

“And while Big Tech is quick to censor the president, quick to censor some of his top employees, they’re very reluctant, it seems, to label some of the actions by Chinese officials, some of the misinformation that has been spread by China,” she said, targeting Google and Facebook as well.

The press secretary revealed how Twitter only now just moved to fact-check a long-ago conspiracy theory that China touted claiming that a member of the U.S. military was responsible for bringing the virus to China which eventually became the coronavirus pandemic.

McEnany noted the “extraordinary” ratio of negative Trump tweets and other examples of bias against conservative voices, slamming the social media platforms for allowing liberals to “incite violence” against the Covington Catholic students.

She reiterated that the president will not be tolerating any “stifling” of free speech, calling the examples she shared “disturbing.”

The president is reportedly set to sign an executive order “pertaining to social media,” McEnany told reporters on Wednesday. Trump accused Twitter of “completely stifling FREE SPEECH” in a tweet Wednesday and vowed he would “not allow it to happen!”

“Republicans feel that Social Media Platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate, or close them down, before we can ever allow this to happen,” he added in another tweet.
