Michael Flynn’s lawyer believes former President Obama was “absolutely” part of the plan with FBI agents to entrap the former national security adviser.

Sidney Powell told Fox News on Sunday that the plan to hide an investigation and get Flynn to commit perjury was “orchestrated” by FBI agents and went “all the way up to the top,” involving Obama.

Going through the timeline of events in Flynn’s set up, Powell told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures” that the “whole thing was orchestrated and set up within the FBI, Clapper, Brennan and in the Oval Office meeting that day with President Obama,” referring to a White House meeting on Jan. 5, 2017 that included Obama, then-FBI Director James Comey, then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and former CIA Director John Brennan.

The Department of Justice decided to drop Flynn’s case last week after released documents showed how the FBI had set him up with an ambush interview, not informing him about their investigation or that his answers to their questions were not informal responses.

“These agents specifically schemed and planned with each other how to not tip him off, that he was even the person being investigated,” Powell explained Sunday. “So they kept him relaxed and unguarded deliberately as part of their effort to set him up and frame him.”

The documents released as part of dismissing the case against Flynn revealed that the former president not only knew details about Flynn’s December 2016 calls with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, he surprised then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates with the information in the Oval Office meeting in January.

“At the meeting on the fifth Sally Yates was stunned because Obama mentions to her out of the blue about the call and the transcript of the call. She knew nothing about it,” Powell said.

“So you think this goes all the way up to the top to President Obama?” Bartiromo asked Flynn’s lawyer.

“Absolutely,” Powell responded.

Obama slammed the dismissal of Flynn’s case last week, telling reporters on Friday that there “is no precedent that anybody can find for someone who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free.”

“That’s the kind of stuff where you begin to get worried that basic — not just institutional norms — but our basic understanding of rule of law is at risk. And when you start moving in those directions, it can accelerate pretty quickly as we’ve seen in other places,” Obama said, echoing criticism from other Democrats who were also having a meltdown over the decision.

President Trump called Flynn an “innocent man” and a “great gentleman.”

“He was targeted by the Obama administration and he was targeted in order to try and take down a president,” he told reporters.

The president tweeted “OBAMAGATE!” on Sunday and retweeted other accounts as he ramped up his attacks on his predecessor.

“He got caught, OBAMAGATE!” Trump wrote in a retweeet of one person who said that Obama was “the first Ex-President to ever speak against his successor.”

“The biggest political crime in American history, by far!” he wrote on another tweet sharing comments by conservative commentator Buck Sexton.

Others soon echoed the president and the “Obamagate” hashtag which began trending on Twitter.

Many Twitter users also questioned how the hashtag had been used but seemed to be removed from the trending list on the social media platform.
