Where’s Bill? Joe Biden’s 2020 train is missing a Clinton

With former President Barack Obama on board the Joe Biden 2020 train, reluctantly in the eyes on more than a few, the focus now turns to former President Bill Clinton.

While Clinton’s wife, Hillary, is counted among the party luminaries who’ve publicly backed Biden’s presidential bid, the 42nd president “has not had his moment” to keep the 2020 presumptive Democratic nominee’s name in the news, The Hill reported.

All of which could mean the party is saving the endorsement for the dog days of the summer campaign season, or for when the news cycle is less cluttered with stories about the sexual assault allegation Biden has been hit with by former Senate staffer Tara Reade.

Or, it may be on that note that Slick Willy’s association may not be welcome — given the accusations leveled against Biden, the last thing the Democratic Party wants to do is served up a reminder to the American people of where Clinton dipped his cigar.

“Talk about a man who doesn’t fit the moment,” a longtime Democratic fundraiser is saying according to The Hill.

Some Democrats are reportedly concerned about a public endorsement from Clinton, who was impeached for lying about an affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

This being but one of a number of sex scandals Clinton has faced over the years, which includes a 1978 allegation of rape by Juanita Broaddrick.

“Republicans would have a field day,” an Obama White House official told The Hill. “Even though President Clinton left with high approval ratings, he’s still catnip for the right [wing], especially at this moment. The optics would be terrible.”

Ya think?

Then again, with the liberal media firmly in their corner, Democrats are not exactly known for being overcome by shame.

A Biden ally — again, no name offered — justified Hillary’s “important” endorsement, telling the online news source she “was the first woman of either major political party to be the nominee for president and represented the Democratic party during the last presidential cycle.”

This source also did not rule out Biden seeking Bill Clinton’s backing.

“President Clinton has been a force on the campaign trail for Democrats up and down the ballot for decades,” the source said. “I’m sure Vice President Biden looks forward to his help in beating the most dangerous and corrupt president of our lifetime.”

Interestingly, there’s little emphasis on former President Jimmy Carter endorsing the former vice president.

The 95-year-old former president recently remarked that “if I were just 80 years old, if I was 15 years younger, I don’t believe I could undertake the duties experienced when I was President.”

The sting of this comment is that Biden would turn 80 his first year in office if elected.

After numerous stumbles and flubs on the stump, there are legitimate concerns about Biden’s seemingly slipping mental agility.

President Trump, who was the oldest president in history at 70 when inaugurated in January 2017, said at the time that Carter “was referring to Biden.”

“He said that it was because Biden’s having a hard time, there’s no question about it,” the president told reporters on Air Force One.

While the Trump-hating media accuses him of many things, they cannot add ageism to the list, as the president said age should “be limited by the public.”

“I think it has to be limited by the public. I met with a man the other day who was 85 years old, the sharpest guy you’ll ever meet. I’ve dealt with people that were 92, 93, 94, and they were totally sharp,” he said.
