Conservative activist Candace Owens has been thrown into Twitter’s infamous Gulag again, this time reportedly for the sin of encouraging the residents of Michigan to violate a series of executive orders passed Thursday by the state’s governor that are so draconian in scope they’ve been rejected by the state’s Republican legislature.

Apparently @GovWhitmer believes she is a duly elected dictator of a socialist country,” Owens reportedly tweeted early Friday evening, according to a screenshot.

The people of Michigan need to stand up to her. Open your businesses. Go to work. The police think she’s crazy too. They are not going to arrest 10,000,000 people for going to work.”

The screenshot was provided by Turning Point USA chief creative officer Benny Johnson in a tweet posted late Saturday morning.

It appears the suspension occurred sometime between Friday evening and Saturday morning, and sometime after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer ignored lawmakers in the state’s Republican-controlled state legislature and used a trick to expand the state’s lockdown.

“The Republican-led Michigan Legislature refused Thursday to extend the state’s coronavirus emergency declaration and voted to authorize a lawsuit challenging Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s authority and actions to combat the pandemic,” ABC News reported.

“The governor, unfazed, responded with orders stating under one law that an emergency still exists, while declaring a new 28-day state of emergency under another law.”

Though Owens technically encouraged her followers to follow this mandate, the fact that the mandate may be unconstitutional and illegal has some convinced that she shouldn’t have been suspended from Twitter.

As noted by a few of the critics above, it’s true that Twitter allows real troublemakers — including the Communist Party of China’s propagandists — to operate freely on its platform.

Two years ago, for instance, Twitter sat idly by as members of the left-wing terrorist group Antifa openly and brazenly doxed U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and instructed their followers to carry out terror attacks against ICE facilities.

The proof of this was reported by Far Left Watch:

Meanwhile, this week Twitter suspended the account of a publicly-traded biotech firm that had the apparent audacity to tweet about a new UV technology.

The tweet was reportedly removed because the existence of this technology lends credence to the president’s theory that UV light could potentially be used to cure the coronavirus.
