In an interview Tuesday, now-withdrawn Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders mercilessly twisted the knife that he’d driven into his supporters’ backs by delivering an unambiguous diss of those supporters who refuse to bend the knee like him and endorse presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden.

Asked by the Associated Press to respond to the decision by his campaign’s former national press secretary, Briahna Joy Gray — who’d been one of his most vocal supporters on social media –, to endorse Biden (see the tweet below), the senator viciously threw her under the bus and essentially told her to shut up.

“She is my former press secretary — not on the payroll,” he apathetically said.

He then twisted the knife in even deeper.

“Do we be as active as we can in electing Joe Biden and doing everything we can to move Joe and his campaign in a more progressive direction? Or do we choose to sit it out and allow the most dangerous president in modern American history to get reelected?” he continued.

I believe that it’s irresponsible for anybody to say, ‘Well, I disagree with Joe Biden — I disagree with Joe Biden! — and therefore I’m not going to be involved.’”

Ouch …

So to recap, first Sanders unexpectedly dropped out of the 2020 race, thus delivering untold disappointment to the millions of non-establishment left-wingers who’d looked to him to stand up to the mainstream.

Then he endorsed establishment candidate Biden, thus reneging on all his rants and diatribes about the establishment’s failed policies and the need for dramatic, revolutionary change in how America conducts its business.

And now, after stabbing his supporters in their backs, he’s decided to twist the knife in deeper for added effect.

Many saw this coming, of course, based on how quickly he’d bent the knee to then-Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Despite being cheated out of a potential Democrat primary win, he pathetically endorsed Clinton soon after she was handed the nomination, thus cementing his place in history as a pushover. Or so it seemed.

With Sanders’ latest capitulation, it now stands to reason he may in fact be one of the weakest pushovers and patsies in American history.

The disappointment from his supporters is visceral (*Language warning):

A report emerged Tuesday that Sanders’ latest capitulation followed “long multiple discussions” he’d recently had with former President Barack Hussein Obama.

“In the weeks after former Vice President Joe Biden established himself as the presumptive Democratic nominee, following his win in South Carolina and sweeping victories on Super Tuesday, Obama had at least four conversations with the presidential hopeful,” the New York Post reported.

“[Obama’s] private counsel consistently emphasized staying focused on the ultimate goal: winning the White House in November,” a source reportedly said.

And to hear the establishment tell it, the only way to win the White House is to unify behind the tired, cliched, incoherent, reportedly abusive establishment candidate.

Clearly, Sanders agreed.
