Bernie basher James Carville grovels for Biden support, accuses GOP of ‘literally’ killing people for votes

After months of talking trash about now-withdrawn Democrat presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, longtime Democrat Party strategist James Carville has suddenly found it in his heart to praise the senator — and lavishly so.

Speaking on MSNBC late Wednesday, Carville almost sounded like a new man …

“Well, as you’re pretty aware, I was not a fan of Sen. Sanders’ candidacy. I was not for him,” he initially admitted to host Brian Williams before abruptly changing his tenor.

However, every political professional — they have dreams,” he added in a Martin Luther King Jr.-esque manner. “He ran, and he and his wife had a dream.”

And the people that worked on the campaign. And it looked good for him for a while. And I kind of feel sorry for him in a way. It’s like a soldier on the other side. You don’t feel good about it. To some extent.”

Why the sudden about-face? Likely for political benefit. Polls conducted last month showed that an estimated 15 percent of Sanders’ supporters would likely vote for President Donald Trump in November were the senator to drop out of the race.

With Sanders officially out, presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden is therefore in quite a pickle. And as one of the former VP’s top supporters, it’s contingent on Carville and others like him to resolve this pickle, pronto.

“[W]e’re going to have to do some politicking and talk to Sen. Sanders and talk to his supporters and talk about things we can do to unify the party and get on with I think is the single most important mission in modern American politics,” he continued Wednesday. “And that is extracting Donald Trump as quickly as we can from the White House.”

I.e., Biden must win the 2020 race at all costs, including dignity.

And the way to do that is to unite the party, be respectful of everybody and understand that Sen. Sanders, his wife Jane, his supporters, his donors, they had real dreams, they had aspirations, and that happens a lot in politics,” Carville continued.

However, the longtime strategist was unable to hide the notorious condescension lying beneath his flattering remarks about Sanders.

“[T]here’s a decision that’s been made,” he said. “By the way, it was Democratic voters that made the decision. And they made it overwhelmingly and they have to be respected. The ‘establishment’ or whatever that stupidity is didn’t make this vote. It was the rank and file of the Democratic Party that came in and did this.”

His dismissal of those among the left (and right, to be honest) who’ve lobbied against the Democrat Party establishment spoke volumes about his true intentions. Of this, this was to be expected, given as Carville has been a longtime member of this very same establishment:

As a member of the Democrat Party establishment, Carville’s goal is power by any means necessary. He himself has previously admitted it on national television.

“What we need is power, you understand? That’s what this is about. Without power, you have nothing. You just have talking points,” he said during an appearance on MSNBC two months ago.

And if that means trashing Sanders one minute and sucking up to him the next, then so be it. Nothing matters but power.

Yet later during his appearance Wednesday on MSNBC, the longtime strategist had the nerve to accuse Republicans of being everything he himself is.

“Mitch McConnell and the Supreme Court, they’re going to do everything they can to hold on to power, and Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi and [Senate Minority Leader Chuck] Schumer we’ve got to dig in and make sure states have funding to conduct these elections and to put pressure on them to make sure they’re done fairly,” he said.

“This thing in Wisconsin was one of the most awful things I’ve ever seen in my life. Just the extent they’ll go to, to hold on to power. It was all about one Supreme Court seat in Wisconsin. They will kill people to stay in power. Literally.”

He was lying and distorting the actual truth. Of course, given as he’s a Democrat, that’s just par for the course …
